Don't Blink

October 30, 2018

<Kioku> <"Attention students. This is a general call. Any students available for a capture and retrieve mission, report to the administration building in ten minutes. Threat level five."> The announcement is heard all across campus, from every speaker. Teachers pause classes, letting what students will respond go. They haven't had /and found the cause of/ a threat five situation in months, so even the staff seem a bit nervous - aside from the
<Kioku> scientists. They seem half scared, half excited.
<Knave> Callum isn't sure why he goes. He was damn near useless the last "run" he went on, and they weren't even calling for him specifically. And he liked Geography. But there he is, marching coolly down the corridor towards the administration building like he's an old hand at this life.
<LipstickThespian> Running from her dorm room, Yuki cursed the fact that she had slept in! A piece of toast, butter only recently applied to it, hangs from her mouth as she runs towards the administration building. This is it! They told her that this school had really cool things for students to do, superhero stuff. This was her chance! Only, she had slept in and was late for class. Now she was
<LipstickThespian> late for the mission! Running at full speed she headed for the admin building, bag over her shoulder and seifuku skirt flowing in the wind. This was it, this was her chance!
<Endorb> Eponnie was lucky. She was already wearing her enchanted dress, and had already packed extra dolls for a thing she planned later. 8 dolls equipped, she heads off to the location. Sadly, she's probably the last to get there.
<Antichthon> Threat level five? That was code for, 'We'll vomit money at you to get this shit taken care of.' Cass didn't bother dealing with her chair, she just commanded it to find its own way home while she, Hex on her back, darted from math class with a "Later, Fuckers!" She was then a blur of metal and meat barrelling towards the admin building. She passed Eponnie on the way, and had this
<Antichthon> been a cartoon the poor doll would have been left spinning. She caught up with Yuki not long after. "Ha, my girl! This shit's going to be epic!"
<Silvy> Threat level five? What on Earth is a threat level five? Apparently bigger than a four! Whatever a four is! Zita hopped up at the call of her name and smiled happily. Yes. Thank you fiver, no more math for Zita. She scooped up her book and hopped on out, backpack getting slung over her shoulder afterwards. She did a little fist bump and smiled from ear to ear once leaving the room. No. Math! And she'd managed to hurry out
<Silvy> fast enough for the teacher to not tell her any homework! Score! She floats along to the admin building.
<Kioku> A dozen or so other students are out there too, by the time the ten minutes are up. Some you might recognize, most you might not - they're all from other dorms, but it's a small school and easy to know lots of people even if just from class. Though a few look like they might have just wanted to skip class…
<LipstickThespian> Yuki gives Cass a wave as they make their way to the administration building, and follows in shortly after her. Taking a bite of her toast as she finally has a second to rest. Ah, delicious toast, the cornerstone of any full breakfast. The girl makes a mess of crumbs at her feet as she scarfs the toast down. There were a lot of people out here, she really hoped she would get a
<LipstickThespian> chance.
<Endorb> Eponnie waits patiently at the back of the line, or blob, or whatever configuration they're in. She knew she was supposed to eliminate threats, so she would go and do what they asked.
<Silvy> Zita was swaying from side to side in the air, legs swaying a bit behind her. Mission. A white blur appeared in Zita's hand as she summoned her knife and then immediately had it shift into an earring. She floated back and landed on Eponnie's shoulders upon spying the girl.
<Kioku> A man of medium height, brown hair cut close and bearing the demeanor of a career soldier comes out and takes a brief look around. "Good selection. Fewer than I'd hoped, but probably more than can handle this." He flicks his hand and a shorter man, previously hidden behind him, steps out and starts going into the crowd with a tablet, checking people. "I'm Byron Gaugh, but you kids may call me Sir. That recruit taking down details is
<Kioku> Charlie. May not look like much, but he's better at putting together a functional team for the best chance of success than anyone else I could grab on short notice. If he points at you, move off to the side. Too large a team would fall apart and we aren't in the business of risking your lives if we can help it."
<Antichthon> Athene was there, too! Poor girl thought she had a chance. Cass did a backflip over Athene's tail and screeched to a halt in front of all the other students, no doubt scuffing up the floors something terrible. "First in line, bitches."
<Endorb> "Hello, Zita. You wish to deal with this threat too?"
<Knave> Callum stands straight, shoulders squared, among the throng. Upon seeing Yuki he smiled and nodded, then returned to facing front, face a blank mask.
<Silvy> Zita blinks a few times. This… this isn't what happened last time she went on one of these missions. She leans down to whisper Eponnie's ear, she probably should've just telepahtied it. "Yep." The truth is, she didn't want to do math.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki only then realizes a very important detail, she forgot to put a barrette in her hair. The world day of all, she would have a small little antenna of her hair poking up from her head the entire day. This was the worst!
<Antichthon> Cass tapped Callum on the shoulder with a metal tentacle. More like slapped, hard. Cass gave a grin to the boy and a thumbs up.
<Kioku> The small man with the talet's first stop is Callum. He nods approvingly and points. They'll need someone strong for this, if things go bad. Then he moves to Athene and shakes his head. Good record, but too much risk given the nature of the enemy. Too many things that could go wrong. There's a few more students before he gets to Cass. He frowns, poking the tablet a few times, then tosses his hands and shakes his head, and points to her.
<Kioku> Yuki's next, and he actually laughs and nods, nudging her along. He lifts an eyebrow at the Eponnie-Zita stack and points to… well… one of them, anyway. It's hard to tell which, so it's probably better if they just both go.
<Knave> Callum dutifully steps to the designated area, hands behind his back. He's looking very serious about everything.
<Endorb> Eponnie walks over to the designated location immediately. It seems she's going to eliminate a threat. Her inner programming was humming with excitement, like an unconscious obsession with the idea.
<Silvy> Zita giggles and floats off Eponnie's shoulders, taking the girl's hand and leading her over! Clearly, they both had to go. They were a unit! The Eponnita, if you will. She brough the Eponn, Zita brought the Ita. No way you could have one without the other.
<Antichthon> Athene was disappointed, but nothing to do about that. Hopefully her friends would be fine without her. Cass flipped the bird to the man behind his back, for acting she wasn't a fucking vital component to the team. She spidered after Callum. "C'mon, dude. You going to ignore me?"
<LipstickThespian> Yuki smiles happily when she hears the laugh and the nod, wait, why was he laughing? She doesn't give it much mind and then heads over to the side as she was pointed to. Well, at least she gets a chance to do something new at this school.
<Knave> Callum chuckles slightly, looking down at Cass, "Couldn't possibly, Cass. Glad to have familiar faces with me for this."
<Antichthon> .Zita. Fucking hell. at least Yuki was here. Cass slapped her on the back with a metal tentacle, too. "First mission for me. You?"
<Silvy> "Yuki!" Zita chirps once Yuki gets close enough for a boop.
<Kioku> The unselected kids shuffle off, some disappointed, some a little relieved, and several whispering. Aren't those kids all from the same dorm? Yeah, I heard that too. Weird. Why did they bother calling us out? Don't worry, there'll be next time, lots of the time /none/ of the kids from that dorm get called out. The whispers fade as they get further away, and soldier-man walks over and gestures for the students to follow while he heads
<Kioku> toward the landing zone.
<Antichthon> Another grin for Callum, and Ignore-Level-5 for Zita.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki stumbles foreward at the slap on her back, and glances over at where it came from "Hey Cass-chan, ya-" then her nose is booped and she stumbles backwards again. "H-hey Zita-chan! Nice to see you too!" She heads after the man's gestures and rubs her arm where the tentecle hit her a bit, she forgot her gum! Crap!
<Knave> Callum raises a hand in greeting to Yuki, "Hey. Someone seems popular."
<Endorb> Eponnie makes her slow walk over to follow that man. He knew what they were meant to do, after all.
<Antichthon> Cass took up the rear, eying Zita with a calcuating gaze.
<Silvy> Zita decides it would be best to speed things along, or at least the walk! So she scoops up Eponnie and giggles. "I gotcha!" She says, flying after with Eponnie in her arms.
<Kioku> Gaugh waits for everyone to assemble by a helicopter, two guards meeting him there. It looks like another eight are at another chopper nearby that's also preparing for takeoff. "Alright then, kids. You volunteered for this, so no complaints. We found a reality bender. You're going to knock her out and bring her to us so we can make sure she doesn't screw up the natural order of things any more than she already has. She's not much older
<Kioku> than you, but don't let that fool you. She's dangerous. Took us weeks to track her down because she kept throwing plot twists at us. 'Least the nerds got to gather a lot of info this time though."
<Antichthon> A fucking reality bender?! This was already boss as hell!
<LipstickThespian> "Hi Callum-chan," Yuki says as she gives a small wave to him. "Well, ah, I guess I know a few of the students here huh?" Then she stops with the group by the helicopter. A reality bender? What's that? Plot twists? What the heck is a plot twist.
<Endorb> reality… bender? Eponnie thought that was a strange description, but at least it gave a good idea what to expect.
<Silvy> Reality. Bender? As in someone who bends reality? Zita's eyes went wide. Alright. Okay then. "Alright!" Wait. Plot twists? This person could bend reality, right? So were they like… literal twists in plots of land?
<Knave> Callum slowly raises his hand, looking down at his fellow students then at the guy in charge.
<Kioku> Gaugh points at Callum. "Speak freely."
<LipstickThespian> "I'm really excited!" Yuki says with a bit of a bounce, looking over at the group she's with.
<Knave> "What exactly do you mean they're a reality bender?" Callum says levelly, lowering his hand, "What can they do?"
<Antichthon> A patpat for Yuki, with her actual hand this time. "Save the energy, mate. Bet we're gonna need it."
<Silvy> "What's a threat level five?" Zita decides to ask.
<Kioku> "As I said, she kept throwing us, plot twists; near as we can tell, anything she writes in story form impacts reality, and the more it gets read, the stronger the impact. Nerds in the basement said she's some kind of famous 'fanfiction' author, so she's got a wide audience. Only positive is that it takes time for people to actually read it, so until she has a chance to 'post', the effects are only small scale. Don't get complacent though!
<Kioku> Even with nobody else reading it, she's got good control of the immediate area she's in."
<Kioku> "She's a threat five because she can /seriously/ screw up the world if she writes the wrong thing."
<Knave> "Doesn't sound so dangerous." Callum says, folding his arms, "What has she done that's so bad?"
<Endorb> "Fan fiction? She writes of air circulation?"
<LipstickThespian> "Oh, so she's a writer!" Yuki says as she hears the word fanfiction her eyes grow a little wide. "Wait, what kind of fanfiction does she write? Like, of what show or universe or, well, can you give a link maybe?"
<Antichthon> Cass' smile fell. "Oh, you have to be shitting me. We're going out to capture a lemon-writing tumblrina?"
<Kioku> "It's not what she's done. It's what she could do. Besides alter the local terrain and create… something that shouldn't otherwise exist." Gaugh looks at Yuki. "I don't know the specifics, kid. Hey, Charlie! They have a link to some of her stuff? A couple more readers won't do much at this point." Charlie, hiding as he does, shakes his head. "Bah, no time anyway."
<Silvy> Zita giggles and shakes her head, squeezing Eponnie in a hug. She was still holding Eponnie, of course. ~Fan fiction is when somebody writes about something they like. Like a TV show or a book or something.~ Zita informs Eponnie, giggling some more
<Kioku> "Anyway, get in. We can get you the rest of the details on the way. And speaking of the local terrain, she's in a house. Doesn't seem to be anybody else living with her right now. Big place, real creepy. She wrote it that way, used to be a farm, now it's a woodland. And the yard is full of statues. Stone statues, just as creepy looking. No idea if they're dangerous. Sometimes they move, but only when we aren't looking. So don't blink."
<Antichthon> "Hyup." In Cass went.
<Endorb> ~She how are fans related? Is it a homonymic relationship I am missing, again?~ Eponnie enters the plale.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki nods her head and opens her phone, to try and figure out if she can do some net detective work to find out! Surely she can use some hints from the mission details to maybe figure it out. "This sounds really fun," she says with another small laugh.
<Knave> "Bags of fun." Callum deadpans, following Yuki into the chopper.
<Silvy> "Don't… blink?" Zita spent a lot of time staying up at night. ~Fans are people who like stuff. It's another meaning!~ Zita says, going in the plane to sit next to Eponnie. "Wait like…" Zita shakes her head. Nope. Not even going to bring it up. Though, she did wonder if she would meet David Tennant.
<Antichthon> "hOh, fuck, she's a Superwholock, isn't she?"
<LipstickThespian> "What's a superwholock?" Yuki asks as she looks back at Cass and then over to Callum, who seems to be quiet, even for him.
<Endorb> "If they do not move when people are looking, I believe I will be a great asset, then." Eponnie seems to have forgetten she's wearing an enchanted dress to look human.
<Silvy> "Maybe she just likes Doctor Who?" Zita asks, not knowing whatever a Superwholock is.
<Antichthon> "Fans of supernatural, sherlock holmes and Dr. Who. Oh, f
Really? 'Don't Blink?' Did you say that just to be funny. Ah, shit." She met Yuki's gaze. "If this is what I think it is, he's talking about fucking Weeping Angels."
<LipstickThespian> "Ah,"
<LipstickThespian> Yuki says not knowing what that is, she goes to the internet to find out!
<Knave> Callum looks impassively from speaker to speaker, nodding when it seems appropriate. Everyone is speaking nonsense.
<Antichthon> "Read: Prepare to shit yourself." Cass was still energized as ever, but there was real fear now, too.
<Kioku> The helicopter takes off, Gaugh watching the kids. Good, the team seems to be communicating and figuring out what's up. It'll be a half hour trip, easily enough to get their bearings.
<Silvy> Zita looks over at Eponnie and goes to rest her head on the human-looking doll girl. "I'll keep you safe, okay?" She asks Eponnie smiling some more.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki straps herself in and watches out the window with some amusement at the idea of flying in a helicopter. Then, she turns to Eponnie. "Hi," she says with a small wave. "We haven't met, have we? It's very nice to meet you, I'm Fujishima Yukihime, but I'd like it if you call me Yuki!"
<Endorb> "I do not believe I need assistance to keep safe. However, you all may need some. Perhaps I should give you all protection dolls."
<Antichthon> "And if she's writing fanfiction, I almost gaurantee she's a superwholockian, Zita." On her back, Hex spoke. "Maybe we'll get lucky and Zita will get her neck snapped." "Aw, That's not nice, Hex."
<Knave> Callum raises a hand, "If we're doing introductions, I'm Callum."
<Endorb> "Hello Yukihime. I am Eponnie. It is nice to meet you." Eponnie goes to shake hands, which likely reveals how hard her body is.
<Antichthon> Cass waved at Eponnie, too. "'Sup, doll."
<LipstickThespian> "E-pony," Yuki repeats and gives a nod. Shaking hands was still weird for her, and she doesn't give anything but a small little limp handshake. "It's very nice to meet you, too!"
<Silvy> Zita finally recognizes the stupid spider thing that had annoyed her. "That's that stupid spider thing!" Zita says, eyes going wide. "I'm Zita, um… how did you- oh yeah. Nice to meet you." Zita says, head still on Eponnie's shoulder.
<Antichthon> Cass gave Zita a wide smile and held out her hand. "Cass. Sorry about Hex."
<Silvy> Zita shrugs and accepts the handshake. "Why's he such a jerk?" Zita asks with a half frown. Stupid robospider thingy.
<Endorb> "So, do any of you wish for a protection doll? I have 8 on me, so it shall leave a fair amount of freedom."
<Antichthon> Cass frowned. "I'm really sorry. Truly. I'll do my best to control her better, honest."
<Antichthon> To Eponnie, "What do they do?"
<LipstickThespian> Yuki sat back in her seat, strapping in and looking next to Callum. Her seat-mate, or at least the one she's sitting next to. "Callum-chan," she says as she reaches over and gives him a playful punch in the arm. "I've never done anything like this before. So you have to protect me, okay?"
<Silvy> "Oh, okay. Well it's nice to meet you!" Zita says with a smile before going to kiss Eponnie's cheek. "I'll be okay. Thanks though!"
<Endorb> "They will protect you from blows. I do not know how well they will hold up, but until they are destroyed, they will be suitable defense."
<Knave> Callum rubs the spot Yuki punched with a smile on his face, "You can trust me, Yuki."
<Antichthon> "Oh, then hell yeah, give me one of those. Thanks."
<Endorb> "Does anyone else wish for one?"
<Kioku> <"Attention students. This is a general call. Any students available for a capture and retrieve mission, report to the administration building in ten minutes.
<Antichthon> "I'll take 'em all if no one else wants them."
<Knave> "Seems like distributing them would be a good idea, if you don't mind parting with them." Callum says with a smile.
<LipstickThespian> "Thanks," Yuki says to Callum before she digs into her bag and pulls out her Vita for some theraputic rhythm game action. Putting in her matching pale pink earbuds to listen to the music.
<Antichthon> And Yuki would receive a request for a multiplayer game. Which was particularly odd, because she'd recieve it whether or not her game could even support multiplayer.
<Endorb> "I have many more. Please do not mind them if they invade your personal space" Eponnie brings them out on her arm, and activates them as they're taken, giving them all an extra health (4 people means 20/25 DP, and they have 3 defense, plus material bonus)
<Endorb> Once someone takes them, they climb on to their head, or any other convenient spot to wait for assault.
<Kioku> "Alright, kids. Got some more details from transmitting all your talk to the nerds. They ran a search for those 'Weeping Angels' that you mentioned, and it's an exact match. Now, we're pretty sure even the reality bender can't make the creatures use time travel, so instead of sending you back, their touch just… we don't know, but we're going to guess ages you rapidly or something. Basically, don't let them touch you. On the plus side, we
<Kioku> believe that as anomalies yourselves, you may be somewhat resistant to this effect. If it's actually what happens."
<Antichthon> "C'mon, Yukes. I bet I can give you a challenge." Cass grinned at Yuki. She had no Vita, but her gaze was distant.
<Antichthon> "Or snap necks," Hex chimed in happily. "I recommend Zita go in first."
<Silvy> Zita pouts at Eponnie for a moment before going to hug around her. "Oop!" Zita says, before using her Returning ability to get her spellbook, which just appears in her hands as if it's been there. "Which to… this one!" A quick grab of Malissa's break, replacing her copied blood curse.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki, being the fun loving girl she is, accepts it. Usually you need to be on local wifi to play multiplayer in this game, which makes another cute girl appear on screen next to the one already there for some dancing action. At least it will make the trip less boring. Of course, Yuki also breathed these kinds of games, and her level of focus and dance skill was a bit much.
<LipstickThespian> Especially for such a casual game.
<Antichthon> "Holy shit. Nevermind about the challenge." Cass' eyes were darting this way and that, but the new girl on Yuki's screen couldn't quite keep up.
<Knave> Callum looks at the little doll settling on his large, round shoulder. "Thank you, Eponnie." Then to the chopper at large he says, "If anyone should go in first, it should probably be me. I can take a beating."
<Endorb> "(Uh, Eponnie's not doll-looking right now, just in case you didn't know)
<LipstickThespian> Yuki looks up from her screen to notice a doll crawling onto her and sitting on her lap, and smiles down at it and makes sure it can see her screen.
<Antichthon> "And yeah, Thanks for the doll. Seriously, always use protection, kids."
<Endorb> "Also, please refrain from hurting Zita, or you will have to deal with me."
<Antichthon> "You hear that, Hex? Beware the doll-not-a-doll."
<Silvy> Zita giggles and gives Eponnie a kiss on the cheek. "Aww. Thanks!"
<Kioku> "Eyes up, kids. We're almost there. I'd offer you armor, but it probably wouldn't help. And I don't see much point in shooting stone. We already tried explosives, and… well… they just ended up duds. Every time."
<LipstickThespian> Yuki takes her headphones out and sets her Vita into her bag, as well as setting the little doll into her bag, with it's upper half poking out. She slung the bag over her shoulder and glanced out the window to see where they were.
<Endorb> "Of course I am defending my girlfriend. Or anyone who is unjustly injured."
<Antichthon> Cass didn't really know how this protection doll worked, but Eponnie probably wasn't taking the shit. Her file hadn't given the impression she was that kind of…whatever she was. Cass put the doll on her shoulder, and was happy to be done being thoroughly trounced by Yuki. Girl had talent.
<Knave> Callum looks around the helicopter and says with a smile and a wealth of sincerity, "Good luck out there, everyone."
<Antichthon> "Don't need luck, you have me."
<LipstickThespian> "Good luck everyone!" Yuki echoes with a cheery demeanor, "let's all be really safe!"
<Kioku> The choppers land, both of them, within sight of… a really creepy mansion. Huge grounds, iron gates, and dozens of statues in the yard. Zita can detect artifacts too, all over the yard, but buried about half a foot down. Round, a foot in diameter, and screaming dangerous.
<Endorb> "Thank you." (Wait, who doesn't have a doll?)
<Silvy> Zita giggles and nods her head. "Well I'm gonna thank you anyways!" Zita informs, going to stand up and stretch. Worse that would happen, she'd fall and get to try skydiving. "Uh oh." Zita says upon feeling the artifacts. (Zita doesn't.)
<Antichthon> "I'd ask if we get guns, but I from what I know of Weeping Angels I'm pretty sure they'd be useless." Cass watched out the window and her mask of bravado slipped a little.
<Endorb> Eponnie gets out of the chopper. "We must be on our guard, as we do not know what awaits us."
<LipstickThespian> Yuki jumps out of the chopper when it's on the ground and covers her head, rotorwash ruined hairdays! She moved to get clean of it, bending at the waist to try and shield herself from the dust.
<Knave> Callum strides out after Yuki, apparently unfazed by the rotor blades or the danger ahead. "So what's the plan?"
<Antichthon> "And that's exactly why I let you go out first, doll." Cass followed Yuki, and made sure to share a glance with the girl. Despite all the talk, Cass was with Yuki in this.
<Antichthon> Callum too, which she communicated with another backwhack.
<Silvy> "Um, guys. We shouldn't walk out there, I think." Zita says, looking over the yard. "There's thingies underground." Zita states for everyone to know. "Baaad things." She repeats, trying to get a feel for what these things do. Or what their purpose is!
<LipstickThespian> Yuki gave Cass a small thumbsup, and then winced as some of the rotorwash- oh god her skirt! She quickly held her hands down to keep her skirt from flying up in the rotorwash.
<Knave> "Any way we can find out exactly what we're dealing with on the way in?" Callum looks mainly to Cass on this issue, since she's said the most things he hasn't understood.
<Kioku> On the trip, a guard distributed wristbands to everyone to keep in communication and track their location. Half a dozen guards from the other chopper run over to the group and take up positions to guard the gate. "We'll cover your exit. Good luck."
<Endorb> "I believe our plan should be to work our way in and apprehend our reality bender." Well, since Zita doesn't have a doll, why not give them all 5 HP? (21/25 DP used)
<Antichthon> Okay. Cass was staying where she was then, dangling from her spidery friend. The rotorwash lifted Cass' skirt too, but she didn't give a shit. "Look out for statues that move when you aren't looking at them. They're be fast as fuck. If you're being hunted by one, don't blink. And don't try to damage them, because they're invulnerable when they're frozen."
<Kioku> Zita: there's plenty of space between the artifacts, and they seem to be spread pretty much randomly. Roll thy treasure seeker.
<Antichthon> "Any way you can tell us what the things are, Zita? I'm not getting my legs blown off by a landmine."
<LipstickThespian> "Why don't we just go call on her?" Yuki says as she looks around to the group. "Like, go inside and maybe say hello to her?"
<Silvy> 4d3-2
<Mjeowlnir> Silvy: 9:11-2
<Knave> Callum makes a point of looking towards the gates, and away from the girls having trouble with their skirts.
<Kioku> Landmine is right. Those things are location-triggered for sure, and very, very explosive.
<Endorb> Eponnie looks for any statues to stare at.
<Antichthon> "Yuki, I appreciate your optimism, but my bet is that would be a sure-fire way to get us all killed."
<Kioku> You can't very well look into the yard *without* staring at a statue. Just remember not to look into their eyes.
<Silvy> "They're kinda randomly spread. Maybe. And they are landmines! Magic landmines. And, um, they're location triggered. So maybe I can lead us through?" Zita asks, taking a gulp. "Or I could carry us one by one across! Cuz I can fly."
<LipstickThespian> "I can fly too!" Yuki says excitedly, finally she can help!
<Knave> "Maybe you could fly over and tell the girl we don't mean her any harm." Callum suggests, apparently sincere.
<Endorb> Why would Eponnie stare into their eyes? She'll likely stare between them, to get as many as possible in view
<Antichthon> "Fucking called it." Cass glanced up at Zita. "Fly. Definitely fly. I don't fuck with landmiwait Yuki, you can fly?"
<Kioku> The location triggers are cylinders. Tall cylinders. There may be a reason.
<LipstickThespian> "Well, sort of," Yuki says with a small laugh.
<Antichthon> "Callum, A friendly girl doesn't load her yard with fucking landmines."
<Endorb> "Indeed she does not."
<Knave> Callum shrugs, casting a very, very brief glance to the men with guns, "Maybe she's scared."
<Antichthon> "Maybe //we
should be scared."
<Endorb> "I am lucky, as I have little reason to fear."
<Kioku> Not a one of the angel statues has moved yet. Much. But one of them is looking right at you now. It definitley wasn't before.
<Silvy> "Wait, their trigger things are cylinders. So, um, flying might not work. Follow me? And keep looking at them while you do!" Zita says, before going up to the iron fence.
<Antichthon> "Unless you get blown apart and buried for a few million years," Cass said to Eponnie. "Worst she can do to us is kill us. You should be more worried than any of us."
<Knave> Callum follows Zita's lead, looking cautiously towards the gate for a buzzer or similar, "Can't help but feel like we should knock, or something. It's only polite."
<Antichthon> "And Zita, if you get me blown up, I'm seriously never going to forgive you." Cass followed after Callum.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki follows the group, keeping her arms crossed over her chest as she glances around. Maybe, just maybe, she was a little scared. As the statues were kind of creepy.
<Kioku> Perception Checks, All!
<Endorb> "I would eventually be able to burrow my way out once I regenerated. I will look at ones behind us and to our left." Eponnie follows too

<Antichthon> "You face millions of years of boredom like a champ, Eponnie. I'll give you that."
<Silvy> "Eponnie! I'd die too!" Zita points out, with an angry boop to Eponnie's nose and a giggle. "So, how high up is this thing?" Zita says, looking for the top of either the fence of the gate to climb ove- wait she can fly.
<Kioku> Callum's gaze drifted, and at just the wrong moment. When he looks back, three angels are right next to him, all with arms outstretched. The guardian doll is in one's hand, decaying rapidly into dust. One from another part of the yard is closer to Zita, too…
<Knave> Callum clears his throat, "Slight problem."
<Silvy> Zita blinks a few times. "Alright. This isn't good. So, she does what any girl would do. Her earring turns into light, shifting to a massive warhammer in her hand, and she hits the statue with an anti-anomaly warhammer. Sure, yeah, they're weeping angels. But they're still anomalous, right? So there's a chance!
<Silvy> She keeps her eyes on it while she swings! Not closing them.
<Endorb> "You did not keep your eyes on them, correct?" Eponnie keeps watching hers.
<Antichthon> Cass looked. " Holy - okay, yeah, now you know what we're dealing with. Seriously, don't fucking blink. close one eye, then the other, if your eyes get itchy." Cass demonstatrated.
<LipstickThespian> "Callum-chan!" Yuki almost screams when she notices what has happened, glancing back at the statues to try and make sure she's doing her part to keep them safe.
<Antichthon> "And what did I just say, Zita? What did I JUST say about blinking?"
<Kioku> >Zita Swing!
<Silvy> (Do they count as anomalous? I needs to know for the +1)
<Knave> "I'm good." Callum says, keeping his eyes on the trio and keeping pace, "Just focus on your own statues, everyone."
<Kioku> (They do!)

<Endorb> "Please do not look away from the ones you are facing, if you can control it." Eponnie administers Callium another defense doll, which scurries over (same specs)
<Kioku> The hammer kind of… glances off the stone angel. Tough!
<Knave> "Didn't someone say something about fighting them not working?" Callum says, the hint of an edge to his tone.
<Antichthon> "I said they're invincible when frozen. Zita, are you intentionally ignoring me, here?"
<Kioku> And every time you look at each other instead of them, a few of them get closer…
<Silvy> Zita closes one eye, then the other, staring at the angel. Alright. It's tough. "I'm not!" Zita says, swinging at the angel's head again. She doesn't look at them to talk! She stares at the angel she's swinging at… again!
<Endorb> "Zita, if you can guide me to the door, I will be able to look over the majority of the garden. Can we accomplish this?"
<Antichthon> Well, no looking at each other, then! "Keep moving. Lets keep moving. Each of us, take a seventy-two degree arc to watch, and let's keep fucking moving."
<LipstickThespian> With a glint of light, Miya Endo appears next to Yuki. This plucky young Japanese Schoolgirl only has a faint halo of light around her as she comes to being. Wearing a seifuku that is about as short as Yuki's, but in red, and with a simple crest on the chest. She looks at Yuki and starts to berate the girl in Japanese, up until Yuki snaps right back in another string of Japanese
<LipstickThespian> before she gets Miya to help them stare at statues. Another pair of eyes to help.
<Knave> Callum focuses on watching angels as they move. He's taking a lot in stride today.
<Kioku> And not a moment too soon - two of them are almost in front of the door to block it.

<Antichthon> It was really hard not to look away at the sound of a complete stranger popping in. Fortunately, Cass had Hex' sensors; she didn't need to look. "Okay, Yuki, I love you girl, but you really need to warn us before you start summoning magic schoolgirls in situations like these."

<LipstickThespian> "S-sorry," Yuki says as she feels a little bad for Miya showing up. But it isn't her fault! Miya just shows up sometimes to give her advice, or harass her, or flirt with her sometimes.
<Silvy> ~Eponnie. What Yuki just did gave me an idea! How many dolls do you have that you haven't used? Could you get them to walk around and stare at angels? Maybe if they /think/ something's looking at them it'll work?~
<Kioku> Everyone makes it the rest of the way to the door without further incident, though a couple are dangerously close to Zita by the time you get there, and Yuki could /swear/ that she felt one brush her sleeve, but Miya kept it from going any further. Now you've got a new problem to face though; the door is locked. Because of course it is.
<Antichthon> Unfortunate that Zita didn't say that out loud.
<Silvy> Zita looked at the door. Alright. "Um, your roboasshole spider doesn't carry lockpicks, does he?" Zita asks, putting her back to the door to stare over what she could.
<Knave> "We could try knocking." Callum says, a little insistently.
<LipstickThespian> Miya really was a good friend, and Yuki might have peed herself if it was anything more than a brush. Luckily for her, it wasn't. She looked back to watch the yard and her and Miya had a very frank discussion in her hushed Japanese about timing.
<Endorb> ~It is worth a try~ Eponnie brings out her remaining 4 dolls as basic dolls to watch the garden with her, covering as much as possible.
<Antichthon> Cass' section of the grounds to watch was facing away from the door, but again, Hex-sensors. "Ah, shit. No, she doesn't, Zita. And oh, right, go ahead, Callum. Knock all you want! Knock the fucking door down for all I care!" Beat. "…Actually that's not a bad idea. Bust it."
<Endorb> "If we are lucky, I may have given us a much wider degree of protection."
<Knave> With a tetchy look at Cass, Callum raps four times on the door, then offers a "Hello?" at the house front.
<Antichthon> "If this doesn't work you're knocking harder, superman."
<Silvy> "So, if I told you all I could make a little bubble to protect us, but we wouldn't be able to see them, what would you guys say?"
<Kioku> The door… actually… there's a click?
<Antichthon> "I'd say that's a terrible idea Zita. These things are strong. Stronger than anything. You aren't keeping them out with a bubble."
<LipstickThespian> "Miya says she saw this same scene in a horror movie once," Yuki says to the group and then Miya is quick to hit her arm playfully and admonish her in terse Japanese.
<Endorb> "Use it as a last resort, ZIta."
<Antichthon> "…and no fucking way, don't tell me knocking actually worked."
<Silvy> "It's a bubble made of enchanted metal." Zita informs, before using her hand to feel for the doorknob and try opening it. "Callum, you better be watching the doorway once this opens.
<Silvy> "
<Antichthon> "Great. These are magical stone gargoyles that would literally survive a supernova. Work it out, Zita."
<Knave> "Scout's honour." Callum says with a small smile, "Honestly, it's amazing how quickly people forget their manners."
<Antichthon> "Maybe it's because shit's trying to kill us."
<LipstickThespian> "You guys fight a lot," Yuki says simply as she fiddles with her schoolbag to try and find her phone to take a picture.
<Silvy> While they're waiting, Zita turns her sledgehammer into a spear and hurls it at one. Might as well occupy her time with something.
<Antichthon> "Sorry. I don't take potential neck-snapping well, Yuki. Flaw of mine."
<Endorb> "I in fact have never been in mutual combat before."
<Silvy> 4d3-8+6 I wonder if this'll even scratch it
<Mjeowlnir> Silvy, I wonder if this'll even scratch it: 9:11-8+6
<Kioku> The door swings open with a creek - until it stops. Right there, in the doorway with one arm outstretched and blocking the door from opening any further, is One Of Them.
<Kioku> 4d3+2
<Mjeowlnir> Kioku: 13:11+2
<Kioku> No, Zita. It won't even scratch it.
<Antichthon> "Once again, I float forward the 'have superman pulverise the door' idea."
<Silvy> Zita recalls the spear to her hand. Damn it.
<LipstickThespian> "I just want to be inside," Yuki says, "it's cold out here."
<Knave> "Guys. It's, uh, well… There's more inside." Callum declares, deflated.
<Antichthon> "Same." A gentle pat to Yuki's shoulder.
<Silvy> "Callum? How's the do-" Zita sighs. "Switch on three, Callum." Zita was going to smash one of these fucks eventually.
<Endorb> "That is a shame."
<Antichthon> "Yeah, I can see that, Callum. I literally have eyes on my tentacles. Destroy the door. C'mon, you going to make me ask politely?"
<Knave> "Well I wouldn't mind, Cass." Callum says, breathing out a calming breath, "Zita, take over watching this thing on three, so I can hit the door for her, okay?"
<LipstickThespian> "Just, can't we go in the backdoor?" Yuki asks the group as she keeps up with her job of watching along with Miya.
<Antichthon> "Oh yeah, let's go all the way around the place to another door that's probably locked. That'll turn out swell."
<Silvy> "Alright. One. Two. Three!" Zita turns to stare at the door.
<Endorb> Eponnie has a doll watch that statue, in case the switch screws up. "I hope my dolls truly are helpful."
<Antichthon> "I don't know, Eponnie. In Dr. Who, pretty sure only living things w
wait, you're working. Hell, maybe your dolls do work."
<Knave> Callum steps away to focus his attention on the door. He rolls his shoulders back, breaths in, pumping himself up, then swings.
<Knave> 4d3-8+5
<Mjeowlnir> Knave: 3:6-8+5
<Silvy> "In the show, a blind chick managed to trick them!" Zita says. "Eponnie's alive!"
<LipstickThespian> "S-sorry Cass-chan," Yuki says after the admonishment Cass gives her.
<Antichthon> "Huh. Well, that's what I get for not watching the show." Another soft pat on Yuki's shoulder. Snapping was just Cass' way of dealing with fear.
<Endorb> "I am not biological, and I have no soul, so that is technically false."
<Antichthon> "Well, don't tell the weeping angels that, because you are working. Somehow."
<Kioku> Before the Might of Callum, the door didn't stand much of a chance. It may have taken a couple of tries, but the wall the hinges were attached to broke eventually, letting the door fall forward. And in the room are two more angels. And a little boy with a messy mop of black hair who turns and runs up the stairs as soon as the door is down.
<LipstickThespian> "I feel bad about breaking her door," Yuki says once she hears it fall down. Miya says something in Japanese to her and it makes her laugh.
<Antichthon> "Thank you Callum. really." The sarcasm was strong in this one. And who - boy?
<Knave> "What was the part of the plan after 'break the door'?" Callum asks, keeping his eyes on the angels inside.
<Silvy> "Callum. I'm going to try destroying one of these angels. Again." Zita says, planning to give it her all. "You watch the left one, I got the right one." Zita was going to destroy one of these things. Just to prove she could!
<Silvy> 4d3-8+12 Overdrive
<Mjeowlnir> Silvy, Overdrive: 10:6-8+12
<Kioku> 4d3+2 Still Stone.
<Mjeowlnir> Kioku, Still Stone.: 13:11+2
<Kioku> Zita, you've been awfully intent on these things. Maybe a little too long. Make mental defense.
<Silvy> 4d3-8+2
<Mjeowlnir> Silvy: 1:7-8+2
<Antichthon> "Seriously Zita, stop it."
<Knave> "How many times are you going to run into that wall before you find a door?" Callum growls quietly.
<Antichthon> "And the plan is to go inside now, Callum. What the hell do you think happens after you open a door?"
<Endorb> Eponnie has the dolls watching as many as possible. "It is true that it's not working, Zita. Perhaps you should stop focusing on it."
<Knave> "Just making sure." Callum strides in over the wreckage, one eye then the other on the angels, "What about the little kid?"
<Kioku> Zita: You feel like something is in your eye. It's weird.
<Antichthon> "I have no idea. Zita, you watch the show. Any little kids involved with Dr w - oh god, did anyone see if that kid was wearing a gas mask?"
<Silvy> "I wanna see if I can do it!" Zita growls in response. She knew she could! She had to be able to! Zita goes to rub at her eye, keeping the other one open.
<Antichthon> "Seriously, quick. Was that fucking kid wearing a gas mask?"
<LipstickThespian> Yuki slips inside the house and Miya follows shortly after, she wants to get inside and out of the cold. The two schoolgirls go about looking at the statues inside. "A gas mask?" She asks.
<Endorb> "Zita, we should go inside. Please?"
<Silvy> Zita turns to look at the ones outside and walks backwards inside, holding Eponnie by the hand.
<Antichthon> Cass still took her watching duties seriously, but didn't trust her mechanical eyes to actually count. "Zita, Eponnie. Inside. Now."
<Knave> "Eponnie, would you mind watching behind us, make sure we aren't followed?" Callum moves in cautiously, "At least not too closely."
<Kioku> The mechanical eyes indeed don't count. Neither do the dolls. The ones from outside are jerkily moving in, in batches.
<Antichthon> "Look, in Dr. Who, one really creepy and powerful kid was involved. He wore a gas mask. And she transferred physical wounds like a disease."
<Endorb> Eponnie backs up with Zita."I will watch behind us, yes."
<Kioku> Blocking your line of sight to the outside might not be the best plan, but it's the only real option to get inside.
<Antichthon> "And just to remind people I never saw the show, I'm working entirely on internet memes, here. So Zita, if you have anything to add, it'd be really useful."
<LipstickThespian> "Do we go upstairs?" Yuki asks as she watches a few of the statues, "or do we look around down here first?"
<Silvy> "Um, um, if they look at each other or in a mirror, they get trapped forever." Zita says as she backs up. "Also, um, some dude managed to chain one up and, like, torture it or something. I don't remember how though."
<Endorb> "I believe we should apprehend the person as soon as possible." Eponnie brings the dolls back in to her dress, just watching herself.
<Antichthon> "Kid went upstairs? …Fuck, that means we should, too. Pretty sure the plan here is the follow the danger, because if I was a superpowered reality-bending superwholockian, I'd be surrounding myself with the most dangerous stuff possible."
<Kioku> "Attention, intruders!" What. It sounds like a teenage girl's voice over an intercom. But where's the intercom? "Umm… leave me alone. Seriously, get out of here or I'll make it a crossover."
<Antichthon> "…Upstairs, people." Cass moved, and hopefully the others would follow.
<Knave> Callum puts his hands around his mouth for volume, "We don't want to hurt you! We'd also really like you not to hurt us!"
<LipstickThespian> "A crossover?" Yuki says and then her eyes grow in excitement, "oh man! That'd be so cool! I hope it's a crossover with something I actually know, though." Miya says something jokingly and Yuki gives her a slap on the arm.
<Antichthon> "Okay, the mirror thing is actually useful. Everyone, keep an eye out for mirrors. Hey, with any luck a whole bunch of them looked at each other outside. How could they avoid it?"
<Endorb> Eponnie keeps backing up, trying to watch everything she can without risking anything reaching them.
<Silvy> "Oh! And don't take pictures of them! And they cover their eyes to avoid it, Cass. That's why they're called weeping angels!"
<LipstickThespian> Yuki digs into her bag and, wait, don't take pictures. "Why shouldn't we take pictures?"
<Antichthon> "And seriously guys, follow me. I seem to be the only one here willing to take on the fucking responsibility of leadership, so do as I say and we all have a better chance of keeping our necks unsnapped, m'kay? Upstairs."
<Knave> "I'd take the burden, Cass, only I have no idea what's going on." Callum smiles, then his damn sincerity leaks back into his voice, "Thank you, though. Someone needs to take charge."
<Silvy> "Pictures make new ones grow!" Zita says, walking backwards up the stairs.
<Kioku> On that note, Zita, your eye still feels weird. More mental defense
<Antichthon> Thumbs up to Callum. "You're alright, dude." Up the stairs. "And listen to what Zita's saying about pictures. Unfortunately my way of pictures doesn't seem to be working, so. Those of you with cameras, snap 'em."
<Silvy> 4d3-8+2
<Mjeowlnir> Silvy: 2:8-8+2
<Endorb> "I see…" Eponnie keeps following. "Is there anything I can do other than watch behind us?"
<Silvy> "I said DONT take pictures."
<LipstickThespian> Yuki might have taken a picture on her phone, okay, she did take a picture on her phone. She heads to the stairs without another word and Miya follows her.
<Antichthon> "Oh. Crap. Don't. DON'T take pictures. Sorry, my bad."
<Silvy> "Or record them, I think. Anything that takes the image of one becomes one, or something ten like that!"
<Antichthon> "…my brain constantly records. That's how my memory works."
<Antichthon> "Left here guys. I think the kid took a left." Cass headed that way.
<Silvy> "Video recordings. Um, I think you'll be okay as long as you don't have a screen." Zita says, waiting at the top of the stairs.
<Kioku> There don't seem to be any more angels upstairs, but that doesn't mean they can't follow you. There are dozens of doors, but one hangs slightly open.
<Endorb> Eponnie keeps walking backwards behind them. "Be careful, everyone."
<Antichthon> "Okay, these things move blindingly fast, ha ha, pun intended, so don't fucking let your guard down. Just because there's none here doesn't mean there wont be in a bloody second if even one of us blinks."
<Silvy> Once everyone is up stairs, Zita is going to turn Sircatore into a giant rectangle to block the staircase and have a panel slide out to cover any balcony openings.
<Knave> "Okay, I'm keeping eyes behind us. I'm counting on the brainiacs to lead the way here." Callum says, walking with Eponnie.
<Antichthon> "Door seems fishy. Everyone, hold up. Callum, hold me, please?"
<LipstickThespian> Yuki and Miya talk to themselves as they follow the group, heading down the hallway towards the open door.
<Silvy> Any artifacts in any rooms?
<Knave> "What?" Callum double-takes, very quickly.
<Kioku> There is an artifact in the room with the door open! It's… weird though. Doesn't seem to have any singular purpose besides focusing magic.
<Antichthon> "And that's a serious command, Callum. Put your hands under my armpits, I'm detaching from Hex, sending her ahead."
<Antichthon> "I'm fifty pounds, I'm like a flea to you."
<Knave> "Yes ma'am." Callum scoops up Cass in his hands, as delicately as he can.
<Silvy> "Guys. Artifact in the door open room." Zita informs. "Dunno what it does though. Lots of things?"
<Antichthon> Hex detached, went for the door to peek inside. Did she see anything?
<LipstickThespian> Yuki and Miya make it to the door, Miya knocks, Yuki calls out. "Hello!"
<Endorb> Are any following behind, or does Zita's shield seem to be holding up? Either way, Eponnie keeps going backwards.
<Antichthon> Meanwhile Cass said to Callum with a massive shit-eating grin, "Now pull down your pants and do me."
<Kioku> Through the door it's dark, but easy to see the small boy. Hiding behind Alan Rickman. In billowing black robes. And holding a stick. So this is what she meant by crossover…
<Knave> Cass can feel the heat of Callum's blush on the back of her head.
<LipstickThespian> "Hello," Yuki says with a small wave and Miya gives one as well. "We were looking for a young girl. She's a friend of ours who is a writer!"
<Antichthon> "…Great, Snape's in there. We have Hairy Pothead to deal with now, too." Hex returned to Cass, reattached. "Thanks, Callum. You're manly as fuck."
<Silvy> "Cass! Can you please stop insulting this person?"
<Knave> "Yeah." Callum agrees blankly, eyes staring at a point several miles in the distance.
<Endorb> "Indeed, it is not helping in the least."
<Antichthon> "Yeah, yeah, fine. Meanwhile, we do literally have Severus Snape in that room, and we need a way to deal with him. Any idea of how to kill a wizard with a wand?"
<Kioku> Snape, as Cass has declared him, raises the stick as Yuki speaks. A rush of light shoots out and the doll gets in front of it - and is blasted to pieces. It might be time for initiative rolls.

<Kioku> Two outside facing windows break. By the time you look over to them, an angel is through one, and another is halfway in the other.
<Kioku> > Yuki
<LipstickThespian> Yuki lets out a cry of surprise and falls onto her butt as the shot comes at her from the stick, the doll sacrificing itself for her safety. Miya disappears and in her place, Magical Girl Ame Satsuki appears! Her outfit, pink, and white and full of frills, with high heels and stockings and everything that makes little Otaku’s weep with joy appears next to her. She gives a cry,
<LipstickThespian> "you won't hurt my friend!" Then she raises her own magic wand, pink with hearts on it, and fires off a Magical Star Beam! Trying to hit the evil man who would try and hurt Yuki! A few sound effects play and some battle music rolls in the background as a brilliant beam of light shots from the beam towards the Professor.

<Kioku> That's… weird and confusing. What were you doing just now? Keeping your balance is a little harder, but so is focusing on any one task.
<Kioku> >Eponnie
<Antichthon> Cass took cover behind the mountain of Callum. "Can I just say my ears are ringing like shit because I just fired a fucking machine gun, and I can still hear that weeaboo battle music?!"
<LipstickThespian> Yuki finds herself stumbling and falling down onto her back, where was she? Ame bends down to look at her and gives a few cries of fear as she tries to shake Yuki out of it. "Yuki-chan," she cries as she tries to bring the girl back to focus, "wake up Yuki-chan!
<Endorb> Eponnie turns to hold off those new angels as she redistributes 2 dolls: A new defense doll to Yuki, and an attack doll to "Snape".
<Endorb> (she also re-adjusts her position)

<Mjeowlnir> Kioku: 6:7-8+7
<Kioku> He is, however, fast enough to roll away and get back up to his feet. No broken wand today.
<Kioku> >Zita
<Silvy> Zita takes a gulp, opening her spellbook and keeping the angels in her peripheral vision. Still counted as seeing them. She flipped to the spell Tongue Tied. Perfect. She copies the spell! He had to talk to cast, right?
<Kioku> >Angels
<Endorb> (the actual trigger is yawning)
<Endorb> (wait… wrong spell)
<Kioku> The lights flicker dangerously. The angel already upstairs with them is suddenly closer, and the one partway through the window is all the way through now.
<Silvy> (Also, she was talking about Snape had to talk to cast.)
<Kioku> >Yuki
<LipstickThespian> Yuki sits up, looking at Ame with a bit of confusion on her face. "W-what," she mutters as she rubs her head and Ame embrasses her in a tight hug. She's out of it for a round.
<Kioku> >Mental defense
<Kioku> (Yuki, that is)
<Kioku> >Meanwhile, Cass
<LipstickThespian> 4d3-8+3
<Mjeowlnir> LipstickThespian: 3:8-8+3
<Kioku> Spells act /weird/ when introduced to the Avatar of Anime. This one is degrading a lot faster than it should. She'll shake off the effects by her next turn. Probably.
<Antichthon> "Down the hall after Callum everyone, because we're going to get overrun my angels And frankly Snape is less terrifying." Cass tok the turn to instead help Yuki to her feet and to help her down the hall and away from the angels. Watching the angels all the time, of course. Hopefully that would give the others the chance they needed to kick some serious Sever-ass.
<Antichthon> And yes, Cass was actually carrying her. strained the robot's arms to their limitit was just a helper bot with modifications after allbut she was carrying her.
<Kioku> Snape scowls and jabs the wand at the nearest threat, even if he /does/ fight like a muggle barbarian. Callum.

<Kioku> The spell hits, and it shoves Callum back, but not by much, and not hard enough to slam him into a wall like Snape had hoped. He braced too well, and though it /hurts/ to take the impact, there won't be any lasting damage.
<Kioku> >Eponnie
<Endorb> Eponnie moves back into the room, also focusing on keeping the angels at bay. She tries to pull anyone she passes along, and once she's in, just kinda backs up into Snape…. I don't know what she's doing, honestly.
<Kioku> >Callum maybe? Eponnie drags Zita?
<Endorb> Eh, she won't keep trying if they don't take it.
<Silvy> Zita would accept being pulled by Eponnie.
<Knave> "Think you're tough, picking on girls?" Callum pounds a fist into his palm as he moves in closer to Snape (Surge Capacity- strength)

<Kioku> Snape doesn't expect the magic at all, and he works his jaw awkwardly. It didn't really take, but it'll work sort of, for a bit! That or he just doesn't want to risk it.
<Kioku> >Angels
<Kioku> The lights flicker again. Some of them go out. An angel now blocks the hallway entrance… and thus the stairs.
<Kioku> Another window crashes, this time from further down the hall.
<Kioku> >Yuki
<Antichthon> Cass would put Yuki down, now that she could stand under her own power.
<LipstickThespian> "Ame-chan!" Yuki calls as she slips out of Cass' arms with a bit of embarassment in her cheeks as she stumbles to standing straight. With that, Ame braces herself and raises her wand towards snap with a menacing brandish. The battle music raises to a crescendo as she casts another Magical Star Power! The beam flying forth with renewed power.

<Kioku> 4d3-8+7
<Mjeowlnir> Kioku: 6:7-8+7
<Kioku> Snape is too slow! He blocks part of the blast, but not all of it, a bit too late. And the doll attached to him just makes it worse.
<Kioku> >Cass
<Antichthon> Cass shot Yuki a grin and lunged forward, screeching to a halt just before Snape, machine gun positioned to deliver a barrage at point-blank. "Spoiler alert: Snape kills Dumbledore."
<Antichthon> 4d3-8+10 (shooting, overdrive)
<Mjeowlnir> Antichthon, (shooting, overdrive): 10:8-8+10
<Kioku> 4d3-8+7
<Mjeowlnir> Kioku: 7:8-8+7
<Kioku> Snape is a bit too slow again, and can't get out of the way of BULLETS. The doll makes it the finishing act for him, though, and his body dissolves into… ink? The wand falls from his hand and rolls toward Zita. Harry cries.
<Antichthon> "…And Cass kills Snape."
<Silvy> Zita went down and grabbed the wand, of course. Why wouldn't she. She spun the thing in her hand and then looked at Cass with a smile. "Cass! Do you know any spells that destroy stuff? Cuz, like, what if we try magic on the angels?"
<Endorb> "Is the wand still magical, Zita?"
<Kioku> The angels, meanwhile, are indeed closing in from both ends of the hall.
<Silvy> Is the want still magic?
<Kioku> And Harry grabs Zita's leg and clings to her like a limpet.
<Knave> 4d3+3 (Automatic healing)
<Mjeowlnir> Knave, (Automatic healing): 11:8+3
<Knave> (-8 oops)
<Antichthon> "…Really? No one is going to comment on that fucking awesome one-liner? C'mon, that was perfect!" Cass rolled her eyes. "I don't know a clue about magic. What I do know is that I'm halfway out of ammo and there's still angels after us. Back into formation, and MOVE!"
<Silvy> Zita goes to copy the spell Soothing Calm and bends down to cast it on the boy. "Hey? Hey. It's alright." She says, after casting it.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki leans on Ame for support, and the magical girl gives her some comfort and kind inspiring words in Japanese. The battle music has now turned into that kind of anxiety filled horror approaching music.
<Kioku> Harry sniffles and reaches toward the wand Zita has.
<Antichthon> "And I'd really rather you save your magic for things that aren't indestructible, Zita. Get that boy off of you and get over here with the rest of us, we have a reality bender to find."
<Antichthon> "Don't you dare, Zita."
<Endorb> Eponnie turns around. "It seems that today, I am exclusively walking backwards."
<Knave> "The boy isn't real either, is he?" Callum asks Cass. She seems to have a handle on things.
<Silvy> Zita keeps it away from him. "I'm not going to let him have it." She says, rubbing Harry's head and trying to cast the Soothing Calm spell again.
<Silvy> "Cass. Google a spell to destroy stuff."
<Antichthon> "No, that's Harry, the main character from Harry Potter. He isn't real. Stop pretending like his feelings matter."
<Antichthon> "At least it wasn't the 'are you my mummy?' kid."
<Silvy> "Everyone's feelings matter! If he was reality bent to be real, then he's real." Zita reminds. "Now google some spell from Harry Potter so we can destroy those Weeping Angels!"
<Knave> "Statues are still out there. And we don't know where the girl is." Callum casts a desperate glance at Cass, "Plans. Moving."
<Kioku> "Hey, good idea!" The intercom sounding voice comes again. "Hold on, let me write him in."
<Antichthon> Cass facepalmed. "Ah, fuck. Callum? Break down the wall behind us, we need an out."
<Knave> "Yes ma'am."
<Knave> 3d4-8+5
<Mjeowlnir> Knave: 3:6-8+5
<Silvy> Zita face palms in response, summoning Sircatore and having the weapon become a sword, with the wand /inside/ the hilt.
<Kioku> "Wuts googul? And why do you need it fr a spel? And how do you kno my name?" Oh gods that kid has the most annoying sniffly voice.
<Kioku> Walls are harder to break than doors. Fun fact!
<Kioku> (Also that was 3d4 instead of 4d3)
<Antichthon> "Hopefully that wand was worth it. And stay the fuck away from the boy with the gasmask, unless you want to grow a gasmask out of your fucking mouth and start asking about your 'mummy.'"
<Knave> 4d3-8+5 (My brains dun work)
<Mjeowlnir> Knave, (My brains dun work): 6:9-8+5
<Endorb> "I hope this does not apply to me."
<Antichthon> "And keep it up, Callum, we sure as hell aren't going back through the door we came in."
<Silvy> "Oooh! Can you make my outfit look like Link's? Cuz I got a sword and all." Zita asks the voice. "Harry, buddy? Can you tell me a spell that destroys rock? The know-it-all of my friends isn't one for helping."
<Antichthon> Cass glanced at Eponnie. "…probably doesn't, actually."
<Kioku> Well, the good news is… the wall breaks. The bad news is, it was the wall behind you, and thus an outside facing wall. Insulation and siding everywhere, and a decently long drop. Weren't you on the second floor? It looks higher. Stupid tall ceilings.
<Knave> "You two said you could fly, right?" Callum says optimistically, looking back at the group.
<Kioku> An angel is frozen right at the doorway now, held in place by Eponnie's gaze. Hopefully.
<Antichthon> "Oh sure, Zita, pile it on! I just love being responsible for all you oh, shit." Cass peeked out the hole, how bad was the angel situation out there?
<Kioku> Oddly, there aren't many in the back yard below though.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki and Miya talk for a while, and then Yuki gives a nod and a smile. Her clothing undergoes what might be described as a Sailor Moon level transformation, glowing white and then changing into what is basically Battle Mage Hime’s Dress, complete with heels and stockings. "Let's go~" she shouts as she runs towards the opening and Miya follows, both of them jumping from the
<LipstickThespian> opening annnnd staying still in the air outside, floating gently. "Come on everyone!"
<Antichthon> "Zita, help me down, please? I don't want to risk cracking something."
<Knave> Callum shrugs up at Yuki, "Ain't got wings, don't know where we're going."
<Kioku> "Okay, I should apologize. I'm /really/ sorry for the severitis thing, I panicked and it was easy to write fast. I'll do better next time. You'll see!"
<Antichthon> "At the moment Callum, down. We'll figure things out once we get there."
<Kioku> The intercom crackles again after she finishes speaking. "Are you my mummy?"
<Silvy> Zita takes a deep breath, throwing Sircatore into the backyard like a javelin. "I'll carry Harry and Eponnie down, Yuki and her friend can grab Cass and Callum." Zita says, walking forward and crouching down so Eponnie can get on her back.
<LipstickThespian> Miya and Yuki fly over in a gentle flight over to Callum, both of the two girls offering him a hand to grab onto.
<Antichthon> "If I say yes will you turn everyone into me?" Cass yelled angrily in response to the intercom.
<Knave> "You know what I don't get?" Callum says, giving a hand to each of the girls, "How do you find out that magic and all that's real, and you still fixate on TV shows? The real thing's knocking on your door."
<Endorb> Eponnie climbs on, still staring at the door. "And then we will reroute back to the front? Zita should fly ahead, in case of explosives."
<Antichthon> "Alright, there's a plan. I'll keep my eyes on the angel until you come back for me, Yuki."
<Silvy> Zita backs up, "Harry. I'm gonna need you to let go of my leg so I can hold you, alright?" How old is this Harry Potter?
<Antichthon> "And I'd explain it Callum, but I'm not supposed to insult the fucking idiot writing this shit story."
<Kioku> He's like five and still blubbering over his Sevy.
<LipstickThespian> The two anime girls grab Callum and lift him up, and out of the hole in the wall to take him to the ground, Yuki calls back to Cass "okay!"
<Kioku> >Zita, willpower

<Antichthon> "Eponnie, Zita, get down there. I'll be the last to go."
<Knave> "Thank you kindly, ladies." Callum touches his forelock as they touch down.
<Endorb> "Wait, I can simply fall after you all, can I cot? I do not have bones to break."
<Silvy> Zita nods her head. "Harry hold on!" She shouts before hopping off the second floor and slowly descending to the ground below.
<Kioku> Well, there two angels in the back yard aren't moving, and the back door is hanging open, but better be quick or they'll come back down the stairs.
<Antichthon> Cass gave Eponnie a nod. "Fine. And points for bravery, Barbie. Yuki, bring me down."
<Silvy> Zita has already lowered Eponnie to the ground though!
<Kioku> In any case, everyone makes it down fine!
<LipstickThespian> Yuki flies back up to grab Cass, while Miya stays with the group. She grabs Cass from behind and goes to take her to the ground.
<Silvy> Zita was intent on keeping Harry away from the angels!
<Endorb> Eponnie stares at any angels that she can as she makes her way back to the door, not straying /too/ far from the group.
<Antichthon> "Everyone in. Back door. Eponnie, keep your eyes on the two angels in the backyard for as long as you can. Oh, and I'm seriously still not over the fact not a one of you commented on that awesome oneliner. Do you have any fucking idea how lucky I was that it went the way I wanted it to?"
<Silvy> Zita floats, because it's easier than it would be to carry Harry before she has an idea. "Wh-Why don't we just fly around the outside of the second floor until we spot the room the author is in?"
<Antichthon> "Movie quotes don't grow in trees in real fucking life!"
<Endorb> "I in fact do not. Nor do I understand the line."
<Knave> "Didn't really get it, boss." Callum leads the way into the back of the house, "Got any plan beyond running until we get where we're going?"
<Kioku> Given that it's a four-story mansion, Zita, that could take a while.
<Antichthon> "She's in here somewhere, and now we have the wand. Hopefully Zita can learn something about it. Or Yuki. Or any of you magic people. Andwait. Can any of you detect where wires go?"
<Antichthon> "See through walls, detect electricity, anything."
<Silvy> "I can detect artifacts." Speaking of which, any artifacts inside the building?
<Kioku> Not a single one.
<Endorb> "My powers are essentially limited to my dolls and my form."
<Knave> "You've pretty much seen all my tricks." Callum says softly.

<Kioku> The longer you stand around talking, the longer the angels have to block off the stairs. And it shows. Painfully so.
<Kioku> "This is boooooring. Are you going to leave yet? Know what, let's make it more interesting." Harry cries out in pain and falls over, grabbing at his scar.
<Antichthon> Cass pinched her brow. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but what i wouldn't give for Aiko right now. Callum, see that intercomm on the wall, there? Pull it out and see where the fuck the wire goes. There's a control room around here, and Little Miss Fuckmuffet is sitting in there on her fatass. And all the wires have to be going there, now don't they?"
<LipstickThespian> Yuki makes a few adjustments to herself, her clothing clows white again and then she is in a simple, albeit flirt schoolgirl uniform. Black and red uniform, checked patterns here and there, a crest on the top. When she bends, it shows her stomach off. The thigh hi socks don't really help to play down the nature of the outfit. Miya, as well, is dimissed and replaced with Kaori
<LipstickThespian> Ochibana, a flat chested girl in a maid cafe uniform. The girl gives Yuki a look and then she looks down to the tray of tea she's carrying. Yuki is quick to grab one and sip on it.
<Silvy> "Cass! Be nice to the author! I think she's doing pretty alright." Zita says, crossing her arms.
<Knave> Callum looks with silent disbelief at Zita
<LipstickThespian> "I bet she's in the basement," Yuki says to the group as she sips her green tea. “She’s a hikikomori, and they don’t like sunlight, right?”
<Endorb> "Insulting her will, if anything, make matters worse. Please do not do that."
<Knave> Shrugging, Callum crosses to the wall and pulls at the intercomm and the wiring within
<Antichthon> "Ignore her Callum. Time's wasting. And I'd rather not guess here."

<Antichthon> "Should At least tell us if it's up, down or on this level."
<Antichthon> "And hopefull the direction."
<Kioku> And the screaming Harry stops his screaming and gets up with glowing red eyes. "Bow before Lord Volde-" He's cut off by the intercom. "Wait, seriously? That's how that twist turns out? Ugh, that's just stupid. I'll just…" There's the sound of a key being pressed on a mechanical keyboard, then Harrymort just vanishes. "There. Always hated that fandom anyway."
<Kioku> Callum, destroying the intercom? Aww. Well, most people couldn't do it with their bare hands, and it'd take a surge to manage, but… well, good thing you can heal from electric shock too, right?
<Silvy> Zita giggles. "Hey, Miss Author lady, what's your favorite fandom?" Zita decides to ask with a tilt of her head. They said to try and get the girl to come back, right? So she needed to befriend her!
<Antichthon> "Yeah, well, least we agree on something." Did Callum's investigations allow them to narrow down the writer's location?
<Kioku> The wires just go into the wall, really… you can't exactly follow them, and they're networked throughout the entire house, so it wouldn't have given a clue in any case.
<Antichthon> More facepalm. "I had hoped to fuck I was being clever with that idea."
<Endorb> Eponnie just keeps staring, waiting for a resolution.
<Silvy> Zita waits to hear the author's favorite fandom.
<Knave> "Look, this story's been meandering for a while…" Callum says, walking back to the group and shaking off the electrocution, "Isn't it about time for the protagonists to encounter the person behind all the obstacles?"
<Kioku> "Urban Modern Fantasy. I just can't pick at that point, it's all amaz- oh! That gives me an idea! Thanks! Ugh, now that plot bunny is going to bug me until I… look, I'm going to be busy for a while, so be good, alright?"
<LipstickThespian> “Let’s head downstairs,” Yuki says and her friend Kaori nods, and then the girl is off walking to try and find a door to look into.
<Kioku> Well, now she's distracted. Thanks, Zita. She cut off the intercom before she could even hear Callum.
<Knave> Callum rolls his neck and follows Yuki close.
<Kioku> There's a pretty obvious trap door with stairs going down, which could be great, or could be a deathtrap with those angels.
<Endorb> Eponnie follows, still watching whatever angels may be nearby.
<Antichthon> "Hey, if anyone has any ideas, I'm all for them. And
" Cass boggled at Callum, before announcing loudly, "Yeah, in a real story the main character's clever plan to discover the location of the control room would have worked! Do you seriously have no sense for literat—" the intercom was off. "Ah, fuck it. Yuki, your idea has the floor. We go down and pray."
<Silvy> "No problem!" Zita says with a smile and a giggle. "I think she likes me." Zita smiles to Eponnie as Zita goes to grab her Wand-embedded Sword and grabs Eponnie by the hand. "I'll make sure you don't bump into anything, Kay Eponnie?"
<Endorb> "I would expect nothing less. Thank you."
<LipstickThespian> Yuki is going to chance the deathtrap here and go down the trap door.
<Antichthon> "Callum, trap door. Actually, it might be unlocked, but either way, I'd rather you go first. It's either you or the doll, and you can move faster."
<LipstickThespian> Kaori makes a comment to Yuki is hushes Japanese, and Yuki goes to pull the door open.
<Kioku> Zita, Willpower
<Silvy> 4d3-8+2
<Mjeowlnir> Silvy: 1:7-8+2
<Knave> "I agree. I should take it."
<Endorb> "would it not be wise to leave me up here to protect from statues?"
<Antichthon> "Good idea. You and your dolls protect the trap door, Eponnie. Hopefully this is the only way down."
<LipstickThespian> “I want to go first,” Yuki says in a whining voice with a glance to Callum. “Besides, it’s not like the basement is filled with traps or anything.”
<Antichthon> "No. Callum, it's your show."
<Knave> "Said I'd keep you safe, Yuki." Callum says, stepping past her with a hand on her shoulder and opening the door.
<Endorb> "My dolls have been proven not to assist." Eponnie goes to find a corner to not be snuck up on.
<LipstickThespian> “I do-” Yuki says as she’s stepped past and she might be a little offended in the moment. Kaori makes a comment to her and gives her a sorrowful look.
<Silvy> Zita kisses Eponnie's cheek. "I'll miss you. If nine you get in trouble, you know how to contact me!" Zita says with a hug to Eponnie.
<Antichthon> "Right. In that case, Yuki? Sorry girl, but you're staying up here with Eponnie You and your magical waifu are two extra pairs of eyes.
<Antichthon> "
<Kioku> The trap door is locked, of course, but… it's not a very good lock. Callum can probably break it with a surge and pull the door up and open to reveal the- ladder? Aww…
<Antichthon> "The three of you back to back will cover the whole field. Nothing will sneak up on you."
<Antichthon> "And more importantly, nothing will be down there with us. That isn't already down there."
<Endorb> "I am just going to secure myself in a corner. I will wait for you all." ~Please keep me informed, Zita~
<Knave> "Dark as far down as I can see, Cass. Think heading down's a good idea?" Callum kneels by the opening, nonplussed.
<Antichthon> "Too dangerous, Eponnie. Zita, Callum and I can handle whatever is down there. Besides, there was a Snape around, too. Not leaving you to defend yourself from who knows what-the-fuck alone. And Callum, I am seriously out of ideas here."
<Silvy> ~I will! Love you.~ Zita says before looking around. "Anybody know a harry potter spell for Light?" Zita decides to ask.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki and Kaori go over and sit next to a wall, away from Eponnie so that they can watch around her and keep her safe. As well as keep the rest of the group from getting blocked in, or something. She then gets into a very long, hushed discussion with Kaori about something that she seems very irritated with.
<Silvy> Zita decides to crack open her spell book, flip through, and Ghost Light. A simple copy and cast and they had their own little light source! Nice.
<Antichthon> "Don't need a spell. Flashlight." ONe of Hex's tentacles shone brightly. "Technology, motherfucker. But fine, magic works, too. New plan, Zita goes first. Me next. Callum, you take up the rear."
<Antichthon> "And hurry it up, we've already lost plenty of time."
<Kioku> Down the ladder is a rather small room with a couch and tv, a mini fridge and microwave, and a couple of doors at the far end. One looks crazy-sturdy. The other is slightly open and pretty clearly a bathroom.
<Knave> "You should be so lucky." Callum responds quietly with a wry smile to the command.
<Silvy> Zita nods her head, holding her wand sword and looking around. "Hellooo. Author girl? I think you're a girl. I wanna talk about Urban Fantasy." Zita says as she walks around, hefting her Wandsword on one shoulder.
<LipstickThespian> “Eponnie-chan,” Yuki calls over the room to the girl sitting across from her and Kaori, “thank you for the doll earlier. I never got a chance to tell you that!” Guard duty gave her a chance to remember.
<Kioku> Guard duty also gave her a chance to notice angels moving in at every opportunity, getting closer and closer, trying to circle them…
<Knave> Callum points to the sturdy door and raises an eyebrow at Cass for confirmation.
<Antichthon> And that earned a laugh from Cass. "Oh, hell yeah I should." She followed after Zita, down into the depths. "Someone remember to thank Yuki when we get back up there. I think homegirl just solved this for us."
<Endorb> "You are welcome. You are most useful uninjured, after all. I still wish Zita would take one, though, and I am sad that I have lost two."
<Antichthon> "Go for it, Callum."
<Silvy> "Unless, like… this is some kinda giant trap and she's tricking us."
<Knave> Callum crosses to the door and, once again, knocks on it four times.
<Antichthon> Also, Cass still had her doll, and it was on her shoulder!
<Antichthon> "You have any ways of seeing a trap from the real McCoy? Because I don't."
<LipstickThespian> Yuki and Kaori did their best to watch the angels around, to try and keep them at bay. “Well, maybe we can get you some news ones after this?”
<Antichthon> "And real nice, Callum. If we had any element of surprise we've lost it, now."
<Endorb> "I will simply make them." Eponnie was at the corner, so they couldn't get /too/ close.
<Knave> "I said we weren't here to hurt her, and I meant it." Callum looks over his shoulder at Cass, "She's a girl. Not much older than us, apparently. If she's behind this door, and I'm not knocking it down and rushing in like a thug."
<Kioku> A monitor pops out of the wall next to the door and flickers on, pretty obviously being streamed from a webcam. "Hey! What the hell are you doing out there? You're supposed to go upstairs! Up! Stairs! I had this great puzzle all set out on the third floor, and a great trap and a boss fight on the fourth to surprise you with when you thought you cornered me! This isn't how the story is supposed to go at all! Get out there and play your
<Kioku> parts! And at least one of you is supposed to get grabbed by the angels too!" It's a girl indeed, long brown hair, probably 18 or 19. You can see the back of the door from the webcam, so her desk must be set up across the room from it.
<Knave> Callum addresses the monitor, "You've seen what we can all do. Even if I couldn't rip this door off it's hinges, my friends here could get you out here a dozen more complicated ways, probably. So please come out and talk with us."
<Antichthon> "Yeah well, your plan was thwarted by the power of anime."
<Silvy> "I just wanted to ask, um, what's your favorite series?" Zita says with a smile as she stands there. "Oh! And you're prettier than I thought."
<Antichthon> "And just so you know, it's either Callum's way, or my way. My way involves beating the shit out of you."
<Kioku> "No way. You aren't getting in here. In fact…" She starts writing.
<Antichthon> "Feel like being a thug yet, Callum?"
<Silvy> "Wait, why eight not? Then can we just talk for now? I wanted to know your pen name and stuff so I could read when I get home!"
<Knave> Callum sighs, "You're making it really hard for me to be your good cop out here."
<Antichthon> As much as Cass wanted to snap at Zita to shut up, she didn't. Because hey, turns out? Zita's idiocy worked once before. Maybe it would again.
<Antichthon> To Callum, "You know she's writing up things to kill us, right?"
<Knave> Callum breaths out a long sigh that turns into a slight growl as power courses through his muscles. Then, he takes a firm grasp on the door handle and pulls hard.
<Knave> 4d3-8+5
<Mjeowlnir> Knave: 5:8-8+5
<Antichthon> Closer to whisper to Callum, "Not actually planning on beating her. But I'm mad as shit, okay?"
<Silvy> Zita is going to open her spellbook and start flicking through it to look for something to help out.
<Endorb> "So, what do you think is going on with the others?"
<LipstickThespian> “I bet,” Yuki says with a laugh, “they’re fighting and not working together.”
<Kioku> "You want to read something? Read this!" The monitor switches to a mirror of her open word file. 'But it was too late. They thought cheating would get them through the game, but it was her plan all along. The rude one turned to the large one. "To hell with good cop!" she said, punching him in the jaw. The nice one tried to pull her off, but was no match for the guns she brought to bear. Meanwhile, upstairs, the asian girls started to
<Kioku> get sleepy…"
<Antichthon> Meanwhile, Cass looked for any wireless access points. If she could find a way into the writer's computer, she could cause some serious problems.

<Kioku> Cass: It itches in your mind. To hell with good cop. Callum's way isn't working, you've got to use force, and get him out of the way to do so!
<LipstickThespian> Yuki finds herself yawning, and she finds her friend Kaori laying her head against Yuki’s shoulder. Then she finds the world slowly fading away as the two girls fall asleep against each other with their back against the wall. Well, at least they look cute while doing it, right?
<Antichthon> Fuck this. "To hell with good cop!" Cass said, punching Callum in the jaw. Or trying, anyway. Unfortunately using one of her tentacles, which could actually do damage.

<Silvy> Zita went through her book, copying the spell Break and rising to stand. "Cass!" Zita says, going to restrain her before turning to fly out of the basement. Eponnie was going to be in trouble!

<Knave> "See, this is where you're crossing a line." Callum says, his voice stern and strong, "Bringing things into being, making your own little playhouse? That's fine. Controlling people's minds is another matter entirely."
<Silvy> Before Zita exits the basement, she casts Break on Hex.

<Mjeowlnir> Silvy: 7:9-8+6
<Kioku> "Then maybe you should have just left me alone!" 'The large one considered her words. They had merit, they really should just leave. Especially with his friend getting rowdy like this - but he had to stop the rude one from hurting the excitable one first!'

<Mjeowlnir> Antichthon, Hex resists!: 3:6-8+5
<Antichthon> …And failed. Hex shut off, and Cass collapsed like a sack of potatoes, helpless. With no new commands, her mind was starting to reassert itself. "…ah, crap, this isn't good."

<Endorb> "Zita, what are you doing here? What is happening down there?"
<Silvy> Zita reaches the top. "Miss Author is making Cass and Callum fight each other. And she made Yuki go to sleep."
<Kioku> "You know, it's a /lot/ harder to mess with you directly like this. I can't type as fast as you act! Better just come up with a plot that involves more traps and monsters…"
<Antichthon> Cass detached from Hex. without her, she couldn't stand, she couldn't crawl. All she could do was sit up, cross legged, and give Callum a huge, very nervous grin. "…Uh, hey, Callum! You remember all the good times we had? Mt. Fuji. Remember Mt. Fuji? Mt. Callum? …I've told you are fucking hot you are, right?"
<Endorb> "That would explain this. Zita, I am providing sufficient defense. Unless you need me specifically, you are wasting your potential by being up."
<Silvy> "Eponnie, I have an idea. Give me a defense doll. Or two if you can." Zita says as she tries to help Eponnie. "Miss Author, if I beat the final boss, can we please stop this?" Zita was going to try to solo it.
<Silvy> "Also, Cass shot me so I'm scared to be down there."
<Kioku> Callum: Well, Cass is already stopped from hurting anyone. That much is done. Better just pick her up and leave, right?
<Knave> Callum kneels, scoops up Cass in a bridal carry, and makes for the ladder.
<Endorb> "Alright. I have little to spare, though." Yuki's doll goes to Zita, and another one follows. (2 HP for the second, 25/25 DP)
<Kioku> "Bluh, this is hard when I don't have a fandom to go off of. Hey, what are your names even? And no, you cheated, you don't get the final boss anymore. Hrmph."
<Silvy> "Aww. Please? My name's Zita, by the way. And I kinda wanna, like, meet you and stuff. Can it just be me and you? Pleaaase?"
<Kioku> "… What do you like to read, Zita?"
<LipstickThespian> Yuki slumps down and her head falls into Kaori’s lap, she sleeps with her mouth open it seems. Kaori seems to just be still when she sleeps.
<Antichthon> And leaving Hex behind! "Well, aren't you just the romantic one?" Cass laughed nervously, still afraid he was going to beat the shit out of her. "You know the writer just said to stop me, right? Totally stopped! Couldn't hurt a fly! Seriously, I'd lose a wrestling match with a toddler. Toooootally safe."
<Silvy> "Um… I don't really read too much. More of a TV person, y'know? Cuz I'm not the brighest." Zita says with a giggle. "But, um… I kinda like, um… I dunno. I like Star Wars."
<Endorb> "Zita, reading her fiction makes her more powerful. Ask her to stop attempting to harm us first, please?"
<Knave> Callum's having some trouble with the ladder. Both hands are carrying Cass. Need hands to climb a ladder. He furrows his brow. "Yeah. Yeah you have told me how hot I am. And you swear too much."
<Kioku> "Star Wars is okay, I guess. Bring that really cute girl with you though. The one who's asleep. I'm not into girls or anything but I see her and it's squeeeeeee!"
<Silvy> Zita giggles and nods her head, scooping up Yuki and floating down the stairs. "Alright!" She agrees with a smile and then floats past Callum and Cass.
<Silvy> *"Seven alright."
<Kioku> "… What did you say?"
<Antichthon> fifty pounds! She could hardly be much of aproblem. Except Callum just had to be the gentleman about it and carry her right, didn't he? "Oh, yes, most definitely. I swear way too fucking much. Spot on, A plus, I'll start working on that shit right away." Beat. "….guys, a little help? I think Callum's still under her control and I don't have a clue what he's planning on doing
<Antichthon> with me and I'm scared as fuck."
<LipstickThespian> Leaving Kaori behind! The trap will have to wait sleeping upstairs, it seems.
<Silvy> "I said alright." Zita says simply. "Why?"
<Antichthon> She reached for Zita as they passed. "Help me!"
<Knave> Callum shook his head, "I'm fine. I think. Mind if I put you down for a bit?"
<Antichthon> "Oh, thank fuck. Yeah, put me down." Cass did the only thing she could do now, and continued to search for wireless access points to anything. This place had to be computerized to some extent, right?
<Kioku> "Dammit. Dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit. Hold on. Okay. So. Um. Zita's infected. She's got an Angel growing in her eye. All of you but Zita and sleepygirl leave, and I'll get rid of it. Deal?"
<Knave> Callum laid Cass down gently on the sofa and rubbed at his temple. "Look, Miss Author, we're trying to be nice, but we can't do this. It's all or nothing. Either you come quietly, or things go hard."
<Antichthon> "Yeah, and - oh, is that why Zita's been saying random numbers? I thought that because she's an idiot. And yeah, no, we're not trusting you with our friends."
<Silvy> "I-I…" Zita blinks a few times. Oh no. An angel in her eye? That was… Zita couldn't quite remember what that meant!
<Antichthon> that was because*
<Endorb> "Why are you doing this to us?"
<LipstickThespian> Yuki, as she is, is still sleeping. Stirring a little bit every now and then but honestly the girl oversleeps so much it’s a miracle she gets up in time for class.
<Kioku> "Yeah, but I want a beta reader, and you don't want her to die, so get out because I doubt you have a way to save her otherwise."
<Knave> "You'd be surprised." Callum said, with no idea whether she would be or not, "The people who sent us are resourceful. And they're not as nice as we are, either."
<Silvy> Zita reaches the door. Angel in her eye. Angel in her eye. She takes a deep breath, Sircatore appearing in her hand as a dagger with the wand still as the core.
<Antichthon> Still searching for wireless access points. Seriously, nothing? Nothing at all? Well, one thing about Cass still worked: Her mouth. "You know we're plan A, right? Plan B probably involves bombing the shit out of you."
<Kioku> "Bombs won't work. Anti-combustion ward. Potter's good for something at least." There're a few wireless access points, but she really has most of the place wired. Those are just for backup, and only one is actually turned on - namely the backup connection to the satellite dish.
<Endorb> "Please, stop hurting us?"
<Antichthon> Cass tried to sit up from how Callum had put her on the couch, but she was too weak. She was trapped on her back and unable to move, like a cute little turtle. "Then Plan C will probably involve sending a team of anomalies after you. Except this time they wont be fucking high schoolers."
<Antichthon> Either way, Cass couldn't do much, could she? She tried to hack the satellite dish.
<Antichthon> 4d3-8+5

<LipstickThespian> Yuki shifts in Zita’s arms, and a hand goes to grab the girl’s shirt limply as she mutters half asleep, “onii-chaaaaaan~” She’s having a good dream, it seems.
<Knave> "They don't leave you alone, Miss." Callum said, "They start gentle, and nice, with us, and they keep coming until something gives. So come quietly. Come with us, alive, and at least be on their good side."
<Silvy> "You'll get to go to school with me." Zita says, sitting down and hugging Yuki. Angel in her eye. This isn't good. "We could hang out everyday, if you wanna?"
<Kioku> Callum, zita, persuade!

<LipstickThespian> My Little Otaku Classmate Can’t Be This Cute.
<Kioku> Okay, the sleepy girl /is/ really cute, and it'd be fun to go to school with both of them maybe. And if this is their 'least' aggressive response, then… "T-then I'll just upgrade the defenses! I can write more!"
<Endorb> "But that sounds like an inefficient use of your time. Would it not be much easier this way?"
<Knave> "That's not any kind of life." Callum says, leaning against the doorframe, "Sitting here, letting them lay seige to you until they get lucky. Frankly, I'm not going to let you sit here and write your own death warrant."
<Kioku> "It… /would/ get borning just writing about the mansion. And I can't think of everything, so it'd kind of feel like a waste if I don't get to write what's actually fun…"
<Silvy> "You could get me to beta your stuff really easy! And maybe make some more friends there too. There's tons of nice people." Zita says, leaning into the mic, "Cass is kinda one of the bigger jerks I've met." Zita says with a giggle to the monitor, if the webcam was still up. "Pretty please?"
<Antichthon> Cass fiddled around with the satellite dish. Was it connected to anything? Receiving anything of importance? Cass wanted to be useful, too.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki stirs from her sleep just long enough to look at Zita with drowsiness in her eyes. “O-onii-chan~” she says in a soft voice, “y-our hand. It’s u-under my skirt~” This was true, in picking up Yuki Zita’s hand was under the girl’s skirt, grabbing her pantsu. Yuki’s cheek flush red in embarassment at this turn of events and she buries her face into the girl’s
<LipstickThespian> chest. “It f-feels good onii-chan~”
<Silvy> Zita blinks a few times. Oh god. "I-I'm so-s-sorry! Y-Yuki!" Zita says, bouncing into the air and landing. Zita's cheeks were reddening too. "D-Do-wh-w-" Zita's cheeks were growing brighter by the second. "Y-Yuki!"
<Antichthon> "Ah fuck, I hate being the most useless person on the team," Cass grumbled. "That's supposed to be Zita's job."
<Kioku> "… Oh, this is /so/ getting shipped. Okay, if I get to write about those two, it's a deal. I'll use fictional names, too."
<Kioku> Cass:
<Kioku> Something just hit the satellite, she's trying to upload something. Probably a story.
<Knave> "Or mine." Callum sits on the arm of the sofa, elbows on his knees.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki nuzzles her head against Zita’s chest and closes her eyes tightly. “D-don’t stop onii-chan~ I p-promise not to be loud enough to wake a-anybody.” She squirms in Zita’s arms, it’s a very intentional squirm.
<Silvy> "I-I do-d-don't c-care!" Zita says with a gulp, hugging Yuki tighter. What was Zita supposed to do? Oh god! "I-I bubub-b-but!" Zita bit her lip and looked around. "Ca-c-c-wh-bu-Y-Yu-I-I…" Zita has no idea what she's supposed to do here. So she just keeps hugging Yuki tight and hoping this embarrassing moment will end!
<Antichthon> "Least you can walk, dude." Cass intercepted whatever was being sent. Hopefully she could review and change something, before letting it actually out.
<Kioku> The girl inside giggles and the door's pressure seal unlocks. Upstairs, all of the angels just… disappear. So does the one in Zita's eye.
<Knave> "I can walk, but you can lead." Callum sets about picking up the pieces of Hex.
<Silvy> Hex is still in a single piece. He just won't function until the spell's duration is over.
<Endorb> ~The angels have disappeared. What is going on?~
<Kioku> Cass: It's smut. It's all smut. And displaying her dislike of the fandom, it's HarryXHagrid smut.
<Kioku> Seriously, Cass. You can find her username, and honestly /most/ of the stuff is really good, but not this one.
<Silvy> ~Um, she's coming with us! I th-t-think we managed to convince her.~ Zita's thoughts sound embarrassed and nervous too. Zita raises up to stand and floats into the air, still holding Yuki tight.
<Antichthon> Hex was down in the basement, fortunately still in once piece. Callum probably had the sense to carry her up, though. "Yeah, I did a real bang-up job leading here, didn't I?" SHe was silent for a few moments, reading the smut. "…Okay, I hate to admit it, but she's not actually half-bad."
<LipstickThespian> Yuki falls back asleep, her little half dream about her oniichan goes back into silent dreams. Still, girl is a deep sleeper, she’s going to be gone for a while. Kaori seems to have disappeared as her thoughts have wavered.
<Silvy> Zita kisses Yuki's head as the girl goes back to sleep and looks at the Author with a horrible blush on her face. "Wh-w-what's y-your na-n-name?" Zita stutters out the question, floating there.
<Antichthon> Cass had twisted taste.
<Kioku> The girl spins around in her chair and grins. "Cassandra. Cassandra Blake. I can take my laptop, right? I can write the rest of this stuff into wherever."
<Knave> Callum is floating around Cass, giving the impression both of a soldier waiting for orders and a mother hen.
<Silvy> Zita nods her head. "N-Ni-n-nice t-to m-mee-m-meet y-you Ca-C-Cass-sand-dra." Zita stutters some more. "Ta-t-take wh-w-whatever y-you wanna. W-We've go-got a d-dorm, s-so w-we ca-can d-do sleepovers wh-whenever when you g-get th-there!"
<Antichthon> And Cass was mostly ignoring Callum. Until the sudden awareness of how he was regarding her sunk in. "Hey, thanks for bringing me up. You could have just left me down there in the dank. Thanks for not doing that."
<Kioku> "Cool!" Cassandra hops up and stuffs her computer into a bag along with its cord and a few other things. "You're a bit young, but it'll be fun. Better than getting hounded by death squads or something."
<Knave> "Don't mention it." Callum rubs the back of his neck. "We're team-mates. Friends. I hope?"
<Antichthon> "And I'm pretty sure Hex should be coming back online any second now. I don't know what the fuck Zita did, but I don't think It's permanent."
<Antichthon> "And, yeah. Friends."
<Silvy> Zita giggles and nods. "Y-yea-y-yeah." She agrees, moving her head to get the green stripe out of the way. "I-I-I'll wa-w-wait upst-s-stairs f-for y-you… o-or… y-y'y-y'know wh-w-what I m-mean." Zita says, going to fly up the ladder and wait.
<Antichthon> "Now keep your eye out for angels and hope to God Zita's pulling an ace out of her ass down there."
<Knave> "Yes ma'am." Callum says, adopting an alert stance and surveying the area.
<Kioku> Cassandra seems to really just care that she gets to write about that super-cute couple and not get hunted more. She's found a new fandom right here, and she's going to be the first fan! She's up the ladder a couple minutes later, and there are no signs of angels anywhere.
<Antichthon> With an electrical whine, Hex powered back up. "Ah, thank fuck." Hex helped her up, reattached to her back, and Cass was back in business. "It seriously sucks being helpless." hand on Callum's shoulder. "Thanks for not leaving me."
<Knave> "Really, don't mention it." Cal made an effort to keep looking over the scene, not at Cass, as he blatantly blushed, "Carrying you's not exactly a chore."
<Silvy> "Hey, Cass, Callum, Eponnie. Me and Yuki got the girl to come with us!" Zita says with a smile once she reaches the top.
<Endorb> "Hello." Eponnie says to Cassandra when she sees her. "How are you?"
<Antichthon> Cass laughed. "Yep, bet not. now let's go back and see wha - oh, alright then." She'd just caught sight of Cassandra.
<Antichthon> "…Welp. Zita someone did it. And there goes any remaining scraps of my dignity."
<Antichthon> Somehow did it*
<Knave> "Hey." Callum looks into Cass's face, a picture of all-American earnestness, "Without you, we're dead three times over before we made it to that basement. This was a team effort."
<Kioku> When Cassandra comes up, it's with a little notepad in hand that she starts scribbling on immediately. "So those guys with guns outside, you're going to have to probably help back. They're drunk. And the chopper was out of gas, but I fixed that already. And-" She cuts off as she looks up and sees Callum. "Hellooo, fellow farmboy."
<Knave> Callum's eyes narrow after his confused furrowed brow failed to keep up with the rest of what she said, "How'd you know I grew up on a farm?"
<Antichthon> A look back to Callum. "Be honest. Did I do anything but fuck things up?" But he'd already answered that. It meant a lot to Cass, and it showed. She Doc Ocked over to Cassandra. "Yo. Read some of your work while I was totally disabled. You're pretty good. And please don't kill me."
<Kioku> "Please. Guys who look like you either are from farms, or play sports, and you were acting way too nice to be a jock."
<Knave> "Well, thanks, I guess." Callum looks around the group, "Are we ready to go?"
<Antichthon> "…Seriously, I'm standing right here giving you compliments. You really going to brush me off like the fucking doll?"
<Kioku> Cassandra looks over at Yuki and squees a little, then turns to Cass. "Oh. Yeah, I get kinda fixated. One thing at a time. Thanks. I don't like killing off good characters anyway. Hope you're one."
<Kioku> "… What doll?"
<Antichthon> "You kidding? I'm the best fucking character ever."
<Antichthon> "The one that doesn't look like a doll and tried her hardest to be polite and friendly. Y'know, the one you ignored like she was shit."
<Endorb> "She is referring to me. I may not look it at the moment, but I am a doll."
<Silvy> Zita smiles and kisses Yuki's forehead at the squee. "Eponnie's a doll." Zita says looking at Eponnie and giggling. "And she's great at a lot! Like snuggling and stuff." Zita says with a nod.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki makes a small mewing noise in Zita’s arm, and curls up a little bit tighter. Why did her uniform skirt have to be so short? And why was Zita’s hand still up under it, grabbing her ass? Who cares, it makes for good dreams.
<Antichthon> "Zita, you need help with Yuki, there?"
<Kioku> "Hey! I was in the writing zone, okay? Then I saw the hot farmboy over here, how do you expect me to notice so many people talking after that?"
<Antichthon> "By which I mean, is the other cheek open."
<Endorb> "I understand." Eponnie's following with everyone, now.
<Silvy> Zita shakes her hand, moving her hand away from the accidental ass grab and putting it on the outside of the skirt. No thank you. "I got her!"
<Knave> Callum fixes a look at Cassandra, "You ready to go, Miss?"
<Kioku> "Oh. Yeah, sure. Where are we going?"
<Antichthon> To Cassandra, "Alright, fair. He is fucking hot." Cass sighed and headed for the back door. "Now, let's get out of here. And for the sake of my sanity, please, no one remind me that we're now pals with a girl who tried to kill us just minutes ago. Oh, and that Zita of all people was the one to save us. I'd rather just forget it, go home, and get my fucking money."
<Antichthon> "You're going wherever I'm going. C'mon, keep up."
<Knave> Callum gestures with his head to follow Cass, as he himself starts doing, "Sunnybrook. Holding pen for the weirdos of the world. It's not so bad."
<Silvy> "The helicopter's gonna carry us to Sunnybrook. It's a great school! Tons of awesome people!" Zita says with a smile to Cassandra. ~Sit by me on the helicopter!~
<Endorb> "Zita is a /very/ useful person to have around, actually." ~Of course~
<Antichthon> "Wait until she's naked before kissing her ass, it'll be more fun."
<Silvy> "H-he-h-hey n-now!" Zita shouts, her blush coming back with a passion.
<Kioku> Cassandra follows, staying right behind Callum the whole way. "Cool. Lame name though. Who calls something a mock-cheerful 'Sunnybrook' unless it's all sinister and evil?" Just as she says that, two of the guards, sobered up already, jump on her and stab her with a needle. "Hey! What's…" She slumps down. "Good work, kids. We'll take her from here, you get back to your school."
<Knave> "Hey!" Callum rounds on the guards, "She was coming quietly! She wasn't a threat!"
<Silvy> "W-Wa-Wait i-isn't sh-s-she supposed t-to c-come wi-w-with u-us?" Zita asks with wide eyes.
<Antichthon> Cass didn't even turn around to watch, just gave a lazy wave and continued for the 'copter. "Yep. Guys have fun murdering her. I'll be in my bunk."
<Endorb> "I am afraid I do not understand either. Please explain?"
<Kioku> "Of course she's a threat. She's a class five, and the most dangerous sort. We're going to have to keep her away from anything and everything that could be a writing surface. Maybe even freeze her or something if we aren't forced to kill her when she turns uncooperative. You kids don't worry about it. You did your job."
<Antichthon> Cass finally did turn around. "Mates, she's a threat level five. How many threat level fives do you know at Sunnybrook? Hell, how many threat level fours? None. Zitch. Nada. Fours might be around somewhere, but this girl's probably getting her head chopped off."
<Antichthon> Cass nodded as the guard corroborated all that.
<Knave> "I'm not an idiot, okay? I knew she wasn't coming back to a normal life with us." Callum looked from the guards to Cass, and back, then at Cassandra. He shook his head as he turned to head for the chopper, "It didn't have to go this way."
<Antichthon> "Agreed. And honest? I don't like it either. Girl doesn't deserve to die just because she got handed a shit deal."
<Endorb> "I do not want her to be killed, or permanently rendered unconscious. Please, do not do that."
<Silvors> "This… wh-why?" Zita says. "She was going to come back and be good!"
<Knave> Callum sits beside Cass and falls quiet.
<Antichthon> "Also, 'coming back to a normal life with us.' Kinda shows how far our standards of normality have fucking slipped, don't it?"
<Endorb> "Normality is a state of mind."
<Silvors> "I never said normal l-life! BU-b-but sh-she was good!"
<Kioku> "It's policy. Nothing else you can do with someone this dangerous. If she's good, maybe we'll give her some liberties. If she tries to write anything though, she goes to the freezer until we can figure out what the damn Bureau's been doing to strip people. On the rare occasion that they manage to render an anomaly inert without killing the person."
<Endorb> Eponnie nods, and clasps her hand together in front of her. "I understand. I wish there were another method, though…"
<Antichthon> To Eponnie, "Cram it, nostradollmus." Cass continued to stand, waiting to move out. To Callum, "Hey. This is why I didn't exactly feel right trying to whole 'persuasion' route. Makes me feel more like a piece of shit."
<Silvors> "B-Bu-b-but…" Zita's eyes went hard and she looked down at the sleeping Yuki. "Th-t-this… p-policy's s-st-stupid!" Zita informs walking up to the helicopter and kicking it. Bullshit. Then she hopped on.
<Knave> "You were right though." Callum says, staring at a spot on the floor, "This is the best chance she's got. The GWU wasn't going to stop. Best to just get her to come quietly and let them do what they want. Best case scenario."
<Knave> "I look normal. I'm not a threat." Callum says, hollowly, almost to himself. "Only reason they gave me a dorm room instead of a prison cell."
<Endorb> Eponnie goes to sit next to Zita. "You must understand what they are dealing with. What if something were to cause Cassandra to become angry at the world. We were lucky to do this once, we do not know if it could be accomplished again."
<Antichthon> "Yeah, well. If I'm going to fuck someone over I prefer to do it to their face, not their back." Cass entered the helicopter.
<LipstickThespian> Yuki finally, after sometime, stirs and her eyes seem to open as she looks up at Zita and then around the chopper. She didn’t remember falling sleep, or really, anything past that one room. “Are we going home?” She asks no one in particular as she rubs the sleep out of her eyes.
<Kioku> Cassandra is carried into the second chopper and it takes off a minute or so later, as does the one Our Heroes are in. 'But they didn't feel like heroes. They felt like the scum of the earth, dragging an innocent girl to a life of imprisonment and experimentation or worse, all under false pretence and promises of sleepovers and friendship. They would get no sleep that night.' It would be easy to imagine Cassandra writing that right now,
<Kioku> if she could.
<Silvors> "It's not fair." Zita says, sitting down and hugging Yuki. "Yeah, Yuki. We're going home." Zita informs with a smile, going to lay her head on Eponnie and frowning.
<Antichthon> "And Eponnie, seriously. I'd rather you not shit all over Zita with your rationalizations
<Antichthon> ."
<Knave> "Nope." Callum argues, folding his arms and sitting back, "Not home. Just Sunnybrook."
<Antichthon> "True, that."
