TL;DR - You can redo your skills, and you can tutor skills you have if someone else has them at double what you're going for (multiple times if desired).
Skill tutors. Take a skill you don't have, do a scene with someone who does have it, and once per tier you can get a new skill at 1. The problem is, most characters both don't have a use for 5 more skills all at 1 (some of which they don't get until really, really late in progression), and it's really hard to know just what skill to pick up! So we're changing it.
By player request, this has been looked at, considered, and altered to better suit player and character needs. Now you can tutor any skill, whether you have it or not, and can tutor the same skill multiple times - you just need a teacher that has at least twice the skill you're going for. Want to train a new skill at 1? Still an option, you just need somebody that has 2 in it. Training a skill up to 2 or 3? Find someone with at least 4 or 6 in that skill, and you can do it. It's still once per tier, but hopefully, this will make those five extra skill points useful at last.
Naturally, it would be unfair if new characters had this chance and existing ones were stuck with their old progression when they might have done something different if they knew this were an option! So around the end of this month, we're going to both look through all the character sheets to make sure they're still balanced and things haven't gotten out of hand, and we're going to invite you to redistribute your skill points - with a super-short version of character approval at the end, where you make sure to show where it all came from. List out what the starting points were, which ones are from upgrades, and so on.
We're telling you this now so that you can get a head start on those tutor scenes - keep the logs, and you can put them seamlessly in with your skill rework. Just make sure that the teacher will actually have that skill at the minimum rank you need for it to be taught after things shift around!
Please make a temporary section on your character sheets between Skills and Supernatural Abilities, and put what you want your skills to look like at the end of this month. If you have upgrades and tutors that you still will want to apply, fit them in - make sure to keep everything in the right order, if you upgrade *then* tutor, it tends to not work.
