I've always wondered a few things, Bolton.
It's been, what, twenty years since you left me? I can't tell. Time seems to go so quickly these days. You wake up to the birth of a God, only to see their fall soon after…hmph. You worked quickly back then. You and your little friends…should I even call them friends? You certainly wouldn't have died for them, no, not you. Not even as they died for each other.
But there's no denying it. You thought they were friends. You called them friends, tended their wounds, even told them your little secret. All to undermine me, perhaps. But I'd expect nothing less from someone like you. Not from a traitor. Is this how you treat your friends?
…I gave you everything, you know. Your youth, your body… your chance meeting with Eunice. All gifts made possible by me. And yet, now, when I need you the most, you abandon me. You leave me, alone, as things grow worse and worse.
You know I don't hate you, Bolton. I've always wanted the best of you. Why can't you want the same for me?
Hey, students! Have you always wanted to visit a sunny seaside town, a twisted series of catacombs, and a place with a history to it, all the while doing good in the process? Well now you can!
Dr. Renee Bolton is organizing a field trip to the sunny town of Diane, Florida! Famous for its beautiful landscapes, emerging music scene, and local haunts, Diane is the perfect place for teens looking to have some good, clean fun!
Ooooooof course, amusement isn't the only reason Bolton organized this trip. An enormous system of tunnels runs through Diane, and it hasn't really been taken care of as well as it could have been. Needs a bit of cleaning, in more than a few ways.
As such, students who sign up for this trip will be expected to engage in community service of sorts. Students will explore the catacombs, setting up "waypoints" every few hundred meters and cleaning out any piles of debris that could potentially block access to the tunnels. The tunnels are somewhat, er, precarious, so students will have to sign a wavier before coming on. But not to worry! In exchange for their service, students will be treated to an all-expenses paid experience of the hottest city in Northeast Florida (and some other benefits)!
Students with relations to the following entities need not apply: Mannus, Draki, Mechatron, Ichragi, Lucra, La Hgan, La Sals, La Papier, La Amon, La Mos, La Qtor, La Lror, any of the Duhkzi, any of the Duhkhiyhsal, Ona, Sedghen, the Chromatic King, Lafayette the Skinless, Nemo, Shadelurker, Portdo, Flambey, the Spine, the Hart, Mistlurker, the Bandaged Stranger, the Boar, the Sinner, Blessed Anita of the Orange Mountain, the Preacher, BenzaitenBuddy, the Goat, the Bear, Ecrymyx Stoneworth, Radical Jeffrey, Di, Omar de Brasil, Danfodia the Wrathful, Caramir, Iro the False, Isaka, Orvo the Hated, Esos the Collector, Arbiter Silas, SiSi the Wolf King, CeCe of Benholem, Miriam of Dunsen, Ria of Doran, Corzo of Lorhs, Mechalis, Lionel of Lorhs, and Salvac.
This plot arc will involve multiple runs, each of them expeditions delving into the twisted city of Diane, Florida. Focus will be on dungeon crawling, puzzle solving, and dealing with an entity know as the Thing Under Diane's constant psychic barrages.
Expeditions will be capped at two to four students, with precedence given to characters who have been involved in the dream plotline.
