This is a scene between Kiefer and Katlyn, played by post, set on a chilly spring evening in Windvale. If you have to comment, tag it in ooc. Now, prepare for the awkward.
In Which, Katlyn and Kiefer take to Windvale for a Night to Remember
Of course it was ironic. It had to be, there wasn’t a way in the world it wasn’t. Can you imagine them doing it seriously? Like some love struck couple that is just trying to do things together because they enjoy each other’s company. Well maybe there was some truth to it. A little, but it was still an ironic trip to the movies.
Do you seriously think those two would go there without comments on the experience, how pedestrian it was? Just because Kiefer had gotten flustered when she asked, and she had felt her heart fill with joy when he had accepted the idea. It was still something they were just going to do to spend time with each other. Not because couples go to movies. Society did not dictate that relationship. They were just caught up in that crazy little thing called love.
So Katlyn Leblanc stood there, on the ill maintained sidewalk in front of the Palace Movie Theatre, Windvale’s very own eight screen affair. She was very firm in the mental belief that she was dressed up for Kiefy. It wasn’t like any of the people milling about the downtown area were even paying notice to her. The silent girl was barely a blip on their radar as she stood by the now showing posters on the theatre wall. That was okay with her.
‘where are you.’ she had texted him, ‘movie starts soon.’
It wasn’t that she was worried about blowing off the movie, it was that Kiefy might have gotten in a mess as he did sometimes. She would be fine with skipping the movie, going past all the hand holding over an awkwardly stiff armrest. Sitting in her nice clothes in a chair that was somehow sticky and crunchy at the same time. Awkwardly trying to steal glances in the dark of her lover. You know, the experience of the movies. Still, she would have liked it if sometime he might show up early to something. Well, she liked it this way anyway, kept her waiting. It was cute. Kiefy was cute.
Let’s take a look at Katlyn’s look for the evening out, something she obsessed over a little too much that day. The dress was a wonderful smooth cotton blend purple a line dress with white scallop neckline and a white band around the waist to define her figure. Her tights were a dark grey, almost black, and had a pattern of flowers in the lace that defined her legs. The shoes were something of a special occasion, ankle books in black faux leather with a side zipper. A small three inch stiletto heel, enough to make her a bit taller than Kiefy. She thought that might be fun. And of course a dark black hoodie and her courier bag, traditions.
Makeup was, as always, on point. Light contours, a little too much eyeliner that made her eyes look dark. Purple eyeshadow, light but defined. Some pale red lipstick that didn’t stand out but made her lips put full. It was only a half hour of work in front of the mirror, no obsession. Her hair was down and teased a little, wavier than usual. The pièce de résistance was of course, the necklace he had given her. She barely took it off these days.
So in that chilly spring evening, the street lights flickering on, Katlyn waited. She was going on a date with her lover Kiefy. It was exciting, and thrilling, and she couldn’t wait. Except for the fact she had probably stepped in gum, she was kind of pissed about that. Well, c'est la vie.
