Oscura Visili

Basic Info:

Player: Karaoke

Demeanor: Fearful and mysterious.

Nature: Brash and arrogant, willing to help others, but in exchange will expect them to help her with some task that puts her higher, whether it is to feed her power, give her an artifact, or something else. She cares little for other people, only caring about getting what she thinks she deserves in life by putting up with the rest of humanity.

Description: Oscura looks like an imp, if you could describe it in one word. She only was about four feet tall and had very long and pointed ears, piercing yellow eyes, and a wide smile filled with a white row of teeth with very visible fangs that would protrude from her mouth even when closed. She also appeared to have largely white skin, as if somebody painted her with white paint. The skin moved to be a dark grey color as it went to her arms and legs as well as around the top of her head. She had watery blue hair that went down to her waist, gathered together by a metallic bead.

Stats:

HP and Psyche start at 6, can't raise during creation, but add 1/2 of Brawn to HP.
Brawn, Agility and Brains start at 1 each, starting cap 4, total cap 6, and you get 5 points to distribute among them.

Skills:

Things your character is good at, things normal people can do
Skills rolls add their associated stat as well (Brawn, Agility or Brains). You get 12 points to spend on skills at creation, with a starting cap of 4 and total cap of 6.

  • Stealth - (4) Agility Moving silently among a crowd is her specialty, able to collect information from eavesdropping or things she needs from stealing, she an rarely be seen in the act.
  • Social Engineering - (4) Brains She has the salesman's tongue, able to try and sell people to her side with her words and mannerisms.
  • Information retention - (4) Brains Her memory is vast, able to read and understand where things are, what people have said, and who she should look for without the need to write it down. With this comes her ability of plotting her schemes. She likes to stay 2 steps ahead, already thinking about what she needs from people before she even interacts with them, having used her information as a source.

Supernatural Abilities:

These are things you're character accomplishes via their power.
Abilities/Powers should be fairly broad, but look at other characters for good examples. They can grow over time, so don't worry if you start on the small side! You get 7 points to spend on powers at creation, with a starting cap of 4 and total cap of 7. Powers add your Tier to their rolls, usually.

Psychic Vampirism - 4 - Oscura is known as a psychic vampire, something rare to her exact race. Instead of feeding on blood to increase her power, she relies on feeding on the brainwaves of her enemies, or even her friends, requiring her to be attached to a person mentally in order to use her powers. Her abilities with this power consist of:
Fetch information: Oscura will request the mental tether for information pertaining to a specific topic. If accepted, the tether will tell her. If denied, the mental tether will break and require reestablishment.
Mind Boggle: Oscura can use the mental waves of her tether to scatter the mind of the target, causing them to become dazed and confused.
Mind Rapture: Using a combination of hers and her tether's brainwaves, she will cause direct damage to psyche. The damage calculation will only account for Oscura's stats.
Mental Drain: When Oscura is linked to another charcter, she will gain a pool of one extra psyche per person she is tethered to. Only works after 2 days of a tether.

Imp Nature - 3 - Oscura does not need a mental link for all of her powers. Being a being of mystery and fog, she is able to do a few things on her own.
Levitate: She can levitate and move as fast as one wold normally walk.
Fade: Oscura can turn herself into fog, able to move through semi-permeable objects like barred cells or grates, yet will be unable to move through completely solid objects like walls and doors.
Visili Gift: Her hair can be used for damage to health by throwing spheres of dense fog. It is also able to pick up, grasp, and handle objects like an extra appendage.

Weaknesses:

Things that cause problems for your character, often side effect of your powers (or of having your powers), not necessary. Not just 'limitations' of your powers.

  • Her psychic vampirism requires a mental tether for her powers to work. The mental tether must have consent from the target and can be broken if a power fails or a certain predefined term is met: i.e. Oscura tethers with Suzy and sets the condition that the tether would be fulfilled when Suzy gives Oscura donuts.

Personal History:

Oscura Visili is not what anybody would dare call human. She was not even born in this realm. She was born in the realm of the Visili, an ancient tribe banished from the earth by some long forgotten mage due to their treachery against some forgotten kingdom of old. Oscura was born on August 29th, 2003 to the royal family in the realm, immediately set up to become the princess and eventually queen of the realm. Due to this, she had felt entitled to everyone. She would request people to do anything or give her anything, and they would willingly give it. And she would abuse the system for as long as she had wished. That is, until her 10th birthday.
This day was supposed to be a realm wide holiday for celebrating the day that this young girl would be officially recognized as a princess. It also happened to be the day an old human wizard entered the realm. He was a descendant of the ancient wizard, wanting to right the wrongs of the past and get peace. That is, until Oscura rudely asked him for his present, mocked the magic tricks, and made a joke about his old looks and poor appearance. The wizard, overtaken by rage, grabbed Oscura, cursed her with vampirism, and took her from the realm and into the world, breaking the mirror that had sent him to the realm, Oscura's only way back.
She was confused and her heart was broken, wanting to return at once, yet the wizard had told her she would not be able to go back until she learned how to properly lead and rule her people. Oscura was furious, stealing the mirror and running out into the world with no direction, aiming to figure out how to get back on her own.
Over the years, her vampirism developed into need for mental strength instead of blood, and she honed her powers and abilities, stealing food, persuading people to buy her clothes as she stoke their wallets, and trying to read everything she could about fixing the mirror she hid. Five years later, she heard of the fifth sanctum and decided to contact them, seeing if they can help her with the mirror.
