Soul Ferry - 4 - Kara can find the soul of any person, alive or dead. She can use this to either locate a living person (via directionality) or to pull back the soul of a dead person with which to converse or to carry along. She cannot, however, raise the dead.
Wyrd - 3 - Kara can roll this either as a boost or debuff to a target's defense roll by half of Fate's result. In this way, she used her abilities to choose who lives or dies in battle.

Kara was raised in Valhalla, as much as the word raised applies. She was not so much raised by her mother and father as she was shown by example, sent out of the way, taught by being forced to lose, and, as a last resort, told what to do by any of the residents of the hall. She was not unloved; it is hard to be a welcome child and not find love somewhere, and she was very much loved by her mother especially, although her mother was often too busy with her own duties to spend much time with Kara. Eventually, Kara grew up, and her mother knew her education was lacking, especially as it pertained to the human realm where Kara would be working. So Kara was sent there for school, ending up in Fifth Sanctum.
