Supernatural Abilities:

Counter-Surveillance: 4. Crystal is passively1 aware of anything that observes her, as well as the location of the observer. She can also identify the nature of what is observing her and what information it is gathering. If someone is observing her, she can (at will) use this ability to read whatever thoughts they are having about her.

Extended Senses: 3. At will, Crystal can extend any of her senses outwards from her body — effectively gathering sensory information from a point near her instead of the natural point on her body. For example, she could use this to look on the other side of a wall, feel whether a door is hot without touching it, or listen to someone's whispering up-close. Maximum range is ten meters.

Personal History:

Born March 16, 2001. Crystal's mother, some sort of reality bender, had been on the run from several authorities for years; when she realized that she was coming down with a disease that would rob her of her mental faculties over the next several decades (and that was, furthermore, irreversible), she decided to fashion herself a companion. Thus, Crystal was created. Crystal was given impressive mental faculties and a pair of abilities that would allow her to function well as a watchdog, and her mother taught her particular skills that would let her work as a caretaker.

Crystal would occasionally attending school if they thought it was safe, mostly staying at home to take care of her mother. They would move every so often when it became apparent that the authorities were onto them. Crystal, in the course of being responsible for procuring any materials that her mother could not synthesize (which became more and more as time went on), became very proficient at computer usage.

As time went on, Crystal grew to resent her mother, who was quick to display gratitude but slow to offer Crystal any real choices in how to live her life, or to prioritize Crystal's needs in general. Things came to head during a fight, after which Crystal vowed that she would be looking out for herself from then on. When she noticed the new neighbors spying on them through binoculars the next day, instead of alerting her mother, she approached them and offered to make a deal. Two days later, the GWU brought Crystal and her mother in; her mother taken somewhere that Crystal was not informed of, while Crystal was brought to Sunnybrook.
